Not in my wish list, just for your passion and encouragement, good first deal

  • They also make good beer.

  • What can I use an impact wrench for?

    • Do and undo bolts on your car, ie wheel nuts/bolts.

    • Anything steel on steel

Just as an alternative, I grabbed this one from Ryobi last week: https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-2-5-5-0ah-5-piece-…

Same hammer drill and impact wrench, 1 less battery, but you also get their light, an angle grinder and a ratchet wrench.

No way same, can't compare the new MG to a Range Rover.
      Good deal OP

      • lol, but both of those are overpriced pos ;)

  • @travisty18
its not listed on the total tools website and how did you get it down to $499

Hey mate I asked them if they could do better. Happy to give you a copy of my receipt if you want it to price match. If they don’t have the exact kit they usually make it up for you on the spot.

        @travisty18
Hey mate, can you upload a copy of your receipt? My total tools won’t price match 🙂

        Cheers will

        • Hey mate how do I upload it? Haha I’m trying to find a button or shoot me your email and I’ll send it through

  • Am I missing something here? What's the point of the 12V 2AH battery?

    • makes you buy 12v items to use it

      • +1

Yeah right. Seems they're trying to offload stock that nobody wants.

        • nah most 18v kits have had them in there i guess it perceives better value for money thinking you get another battery at little cost to them but if you don't have 12v you then have to buy something. probably more like smart marketing.

    • They are handy for things like the milwaukee radio

    • M12 tools.

I use Milwaukee M18 but recently had the need for smaller tools and more controllable torque so I've found the M12 Fuel screwdriver an attractive option.

Also, the small polisher, riveter and force logic tools are niche but great.

      • Do you have any Milwaukee saws? Any good?

        • Do I?!

With the exception of the new Super Sawzall that was released in the last few weeks in the US, I can assure you they're all good.

          Chainsaw, sawzall, hackzall, mitre saw…

          All good. :)

      • i own probably half the m12 range all pretty good but some of the 12v stuff the battery doesnt last very long and should buy 18v versions of them
also sell a little bit of m12/m18 stuff on ebay.

        • I did a lot of demolition and then a lot of construction. I'm done with that phase for a bit.

M18 is a little too heavy for cabinet making especially since most of the fasteners are just pocket screws into chipboard.

    • For the heated vest, jacket or hoodie you need for winter. No regrets buying mine.

  • Not a bad deal but I find the Bluetooth ones drain the battery when you forget to take battery out overnight. Obv this is not a problem with non Bluetooth drills

Would jump on this deal if it didn't have the One-Key.

    • Really? I can leave the batteries in my One-Key tools for days if I'm not using them and they're still fully charged.

Have the One-Key stuff at work (industrial, plenty of people) and it's great - actually stops people trying to knock stuff off!

      • Mine hardly ever leaves my estate.

Don’t buy from Sydney tools their after sales service is awful. Use Total Tools and no I don’t have any affiliation with them
I bought a Husqvarna chain saw from them and it seized after an hours use and they won’t give me the warranty. They are dodgy

    • I have heard of people having bad experience but have to say personally have found them to be quite good when dealing with warranty claims. I think it comes down a lot to which store you use / who you deal with at the store.

    • I get a bit of stuff from them. Went into a store probably the closest one ~500km away when traveling through. bought what i needed got a good deal and great staff so i just ring through to that store and buy everything. if you spend enough they know who you are and look after you.

  • Recently I was doing a job on the property of a long time family owned tool supply shop and they were saying that the vast majority of warranty claims they receive from customers are claims on milwaukee tools despite the fact that makita tools are really popular among tradies. The shop sold both and I could see they weren't just trying to make sales on specific tools by saying this but were just dissapointed at milwaukee for not sorting out their issues.
