I’ll be losing my company provided phone in the coming weeks so need to pick up a new iphone XR.
I know JB had some fantastic deals some weeks ago whereby if you bought a phone outright & signed onto a Telstra SIM only plan they were offering a $500 cash discount.
Is it still possible to ask them to honor this deal? If not, where is generally the cheapest place to pick up an Iphone XR? What are the disadvantages of purchasing non-AU stock devices - warranty issues?

I feel you are better off trying to get a discounted hand set as say @ViciKiwi $1042.95 and go onto a cheap no contract plan. Even if you go on the $45 plan. Thats $1602.95. Say go on another similar plan $40 or 45 with other network or if Telstra lets you continue on $45/m = Total $2162. Could be as low as $2002 if you go 24 months on a $40/m non contract deal.
If you go the $500 credit deal. $1299 for XR, $1540 contact on $65 plan $2839 - $500 = total $2339
Always going to be cheaper on a lower plan and your not locked into a contract with most good deals.
probably best to call JB Hifi when they open and ask them.
