  • Great pirce. I saw it yesterday and keen at buying this but the listing does not mention whether it is a Global version or Chinese. I tired contacting the seller but they have disabled sending messages.

    • Chinese version has no B28 LTE band. Global version does. This one lists B28 LTE band support so is the global version.

  • +2

Pretty good price but i've read a number of comments that say to avoid any listings or sites that don't mention 'global version' somewhere. Anyone bought this phone from this compnay before to confirm?

  • Great price, especially for the 128gb ver.

  • Nice!!!

  • Don't buy. Seller specifically doesn't mention "global version" which is you need for band 28 and OTA rom support. Also can't send messages to this seller (ebay will check messages during a dispute). They're very likely trying to get away with sending you a cheaper Chinese version.

    • Ask them for IMEI number and look it up in https://www.mi.com/global/verify/#/en/tab/imei

      • The seller has disabled messaging, so unable to contact :-(

        • Does it have an indication when the seller disabled messaging? Or the seller just does not reply.

          • @fatice: Messaging now enabled (wasn't last night). Price has gone up $15

            • @rev29k: So… does the seller reply if this is global version?

              • @OzBestDeal: Seller replied "yes it is Global version phone".

I'm thinking you can buy with Paypal, then lookup IMEI to verify before opening and have return option?

                • @rev29k: Yes it's a possibility, I'm tempted as well.
But Zenfone 6 just announced and could be a deal killer

                  • @OzBestDeal: Zenfone 6 is still LCD, not OLED.

                    • @fatice: Yes, and also no wireless charging. But the other specs are very tempting, especially battery.

  • Buying China brand handset on ebay is generally a bad idea for those who want GLOBAL VERSION.

It is not totally the sellers fault though. Their understanding of GLOBAL VERSION could be a GLOBAL rom flash. While etailers like BG GB LITB… etc know very well when customer want GLOBAL VERSION, they mean global rom out of the fab line.

So if you after specifically GLOBAL VERSION, dont risk it.

  • Apparently, changing the China ROM to Global ROM not allow you to relock the bootloader.

  • The seller has listed that it has B28 band so I guess it's official Global version

  • +1

I have contacted the seller and they responded immediately saying that it is the official global version. I hope that is true. I have purchased one now. Also, the price has gone back to $724 again.

  • I bought one from them last week (paid $50 more compared to this deal). After much of negotiation about giving me International version (confused with Global version https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/455913) and has been opened up for QC. I wanted to cancel the order. They finally agree to send the Global version. They sent the IMEI number to me for verification before sending it out. It was sent this Wednesday. I got it today.

It is the Global version and has Australia listed in the region.

    • Thanks for the information. Does the Global Version box has a red sticker with "Global version" written on it?

      • Yes, it does have a red "Global version" sticker.

Before I opening the box, I searched the serial number and IMEI numbers on the web to ensure it is GLobal version while I was recording the unboxing process. Also, verify the IMEI numbers are consistent with the ones shown in the settings of the phone.

        • Thanks. I have messaged the seller to confirm that the box has got the "Global Version" sticker on it and if possible to send me the IMEI number before postings.

  • Do you know if seller provide any other colour?

    • You have to send the message to the seller to check the availability. They said only the Black and Blue version available when I asked yesterday.

      • OK cheer. Message to them but still not reply yet. Probably its weekend! Maybe have to give a miss to this one. Zen 6 and redmi k20 look pretty impressive

  • Initially, I set the region of the Mi 9 to Australia, the ads were involuntary popped up. I later switched the region to Germany, the ads disappeared. After a while, it prompted to ask if I would like to have targeted suggestions. Once I clicked NO, ads are no longer show up.

    • Did you change the region back to Australia? or still in Germany?

      • Still in Germany. I don't want ads.

  • For anyone interested, PAPPY code currently brings it down to $619.65.
