Moving overseas. looking for moving company

I have moved over and back, and concur.
We brought some boxes of personal effects and a couple of small pieces of furniture that had personal value, but would have been better off with just the suitcase on the plane.
Definitely, you will pay more to ship consumables like a TV or PC than it would cost to sell them and buy new in your destination.
What do you need to send? Where are you moving to?
TV and PC. Overseas.
Overseas
Well that narrows it down
Dewey, Huey and Louie (DHL) or ask your local carrier if they have a shipping partner.
I recently moved overseas and used Grace, they were great. One thing to note is that most electronics don't work in overseas countries so they may not even be a point in shipping them over.
hi, thanks.
visited the website. it seems like they are only dealing with large amounts of moving?
i'm looking at somewhere around 30-50kg in boxes. do they do that?
Again, where are you moving and what are you sending. You've mentioned PC, TV is that it? It makes a big difference as the voltage might be different and while your tv might work it might be easier to buy a new one when you arrive.
If you have only 30-50kgs of stuff, you're possibly better off buying a business class ticket and just taking it all in suitcases. Or maybe try something like https://www.sendmybag.com
I wouldn't bother sending a TV, buy a new one when you arrive. It could get damaged.
As for the PC, you can box that up and put it on the plane, take the components out and put them in your carry on. Wrap the case in bubble wrap and put it in a suitcase or box on its own. Buy a new monitor when you arrive.
Absolutely not worth sending white goods , coffee machines etc
sorry. moving to singapore. i reckon i will carry the pc with me. reason i'm asking about TV is that a 895 tv here costs 1350 there, after discount. its pretty significant even factoring in shipping.
the only thing im worried is the damage to TV as it ships
thanks for the advice!
@fataliz: Alright well maybe try that sendmybag site?
up to 15kg: $194.00
up to 30kg: $250.00 sounds alright.
Surely a TV wouldn't be that heavy?
I've moved in & out with this mover https://www.a1autotransport.com/moving-to-australia/ I think they're US based (one of my moves) but they ship stuff around the area and specifically to ADL. They were cheap when I used them so maybe give them a try and see what kind of cost they give. Doesn't sound like you have too much stuff so it should be cheap (relatively speaking) regardless of who you use. Shopping around may save you some money though. There's bargains out there to be had.
My conclusion after reading many similar threads on the interweb is to just sell everything and repurchase overseas.
