  • Order Total Ā£215.99 = $402 AUD?

    • Select AUD

      • cheers

  • This is definitely a show piece set. Not really into technics but looks like it would be a great build. Very popular.

The code was live for 2 days so far. However there was a cap $38 discount for the š‚šØššž. Theyā€™ve just updated this morning but you are not be able to purchase 2 for 20% off as they still set a cap for discount.

  • Selected AUD but got A$410.39

    • I got it to work at $359

      • My shipping country was still America. Weird.

    • I was able to check out for $360 with paypal.

LEGO Technic: Porsche 911 RSR (42096) for $176 is a good price. I got one

    • Good pick. Already have the Chiron but havn't seen the RSR before. Got one :)

    • how did you do it?

  • You could probably do it of you sign in as another user to get another one.

    • +1

      Wtf

    • +2

Lol according to this logic, Ozbargain website should be closed down for good.

SO TEMPTED. Great price. But other priorities.

    • +3

      Reorganise priority list:
      1) LEGO/ LEGO related products
      2) Food
      3) Bills
      4) Cheap 7-11 fuel
      5) Gifts for significant other/ family members (unless gifts are in the form of LEGO, then refer to no. 1)

      • We have got to the point where we just don't have the space for the set. Any that we do have aren't being built. Having said that anyone that comes into our Lego room loves it. I still think Food and bills may be on top of the list over Lego but I get what you are saying if you still have the room and time to build. At least you have something to show for a Lego purchase as apposed to money disappearing for food and utility bills.

        • Hmm… Hopefully Lizard Spock was talking with his (lizard) tongue in his (Vulcan) cheek.

      • Hmm you've got gifts for others pretty high up on your list there mate

  • On the ebay official lego store its $450. So Ops find is a good price.

  • +2

Great. Now Iā€™m $360 poorer… should have gone to bed earlier.
    Thanks OP šŸ˜œ

    • Its the Lego addiction that's the issue. It's just as bad when you wake up and see some bargain and buy that as well.

    • -1

Glad I was at the gym šŸ’Ŗ šŸ’Ŗ

    • you are not poorer, think of the hundreds you have saved.

      • The order was cancelled and refunded :(

  • I got this last year for $480. Great fun to build!

  • been waiting for this to go sub 400. love u OP, but my wallet don't.

    • +1

      Yeah they don't sound good.

  • This was pretty cool where they built a lifesized Chiron out of lego: https://www.lego.com/en-au/themes/technic/bugatti-chiron/buiā€¦

  • Thanks OP!

  • Do they charge a FX fee if you pay in AUD?

  • +1

Price just went up. And RRP did too.

    • Yup they've jacked up prices. 42096 is only a few dollars more still a good buy

  • AUD 410 now :(

  • +1

I reckon once one of the department stores have it in stock, u will most likely see prices dropping further.

Classic example was for the Porsche GTRS….$499 LEGO website…BigW originally listed at $380 store price…then it dropped by 20% during sales…and then prices got adjusted to $299. And silly me, at one stage, I bought 7 of these at $399 and thought I got a great deal…

I did build 1 or the 7….but made a loss selling up all my LEGO (including the balance 6 of these) in a bulk deal.

Itā€™s a great price if you still want one, but itā€™s a ā€œwantā€ and not a ā€œneedā€ in my eyes. LEGO has really over-capitalised on each generation of product lines by producing more quantities of the same model. So if you are thinking to buy to sell later, good luck.

    • Should've kept it until it retired instead of making a loss

      • You would have to keep a while in mint condition to turn a profit. I think we've seen "peak lego" come and go

      • There's the issue of holding costs - storage, insurance etc.

  • Now 410 with discount - its been cheaper at Myer, so im going to wait rather than use iWoot (possible poor reviews?).

  • damn i have a nap and i miss this. :(

  • Wonder if this would go up in value? Was reading lego returning 12% PA.

    • Lego only turns a profit if you know what you are doing.

No offence, but if you're asking, my advice is stay out of the game.

If you're still toying with the idea, this set will not turn a profit.

  • ā€œUnfortunately we have had to cancel this order. This is due to a pricing error on our website. We pride ourselves on having accurate information on our website, but on this occasion there has been an error which has subsequently been amended.

We understand this could be very frustrating for you and apologise for any inconvenience this might have caused.

We have cancelled the following item(s) from your order XXXXXX. If a charge has been taken, then a refund will be processed and the money returned to your account within 3-5 working days.ā€

PayPal has refunded the money šŸ˜¢

  • Yup same here, cancelled order
Oh well, I was almost too good of a price

  • Price corrected to just under $410 with free delivery which is still a bargain for this set

  • Do these self drive?

  • I would say unlike Ebay automatic 10% GST , smaller companies like this is a game of Russian roulette if customs spot it or not . Of course with the custom declaration they are happy to chase bigger one's .

  • Anyone who bought these hoping to flip. Be aware that these sellers tend to post the Lego box without double boxing or any protection. Just a postage sticker directly on the box and sent out.

Happened with the Porsche kit a whole back and lots of flippers had a fat cry about it.

My Porsche Lego set came a bit mangled/crushed and was already open on one side. Packaging is not good - I would not recommend getting any semi-expensive set from them in the future if you do care about box quality. The set was packaged similar to how Amazon packages their movies - in a thin cardboard sleeve style of box with no padding or bubble wrap.

Thankfully I didn't order the Bugatti from them.

I contacted support and in lieu of posting the set back which would have been a large return shipping cost, they checked with their on-duty manager and provided a 50% refund which I was happy with. $88 Porsche can't complain with that.

    • My Bugatti had arrived yesterday morning. The packaging is fine it come with the original lego box. The main Bugatti box don't even had one single make or sketch on it. I wish my box was damaged like yours, so I can get a 50% refund of $360. Good on you mate.

      • Ahh good to see yours came in the original Lego box
