I was wondering if anyone had intentionally purchased an item at a more expensive cost because it came with store credit, with the intention of claiming price protection on the 28 degrees card immediately after.
This is what I'm thinking:
I am looking at buying a kitchenaid KSM160 from The Good Guys:
https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/kitchenaid-artisan-stand-mixe…
5KSM160PSACU: $649 with free $100 store credit on selected mother's day gifts and another $100 store credit for click and collect (effective cost $449)
claim price protection on same item at lower price:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-KitchenAid-5KSM160SACU-Artis…
5KSM160PSACU for $588 - 10% eBay code PSYCHED = $529.20
29 degrees pays me back $649 - $529.20 = $119.80
total net effective cost: 529.20 - $100 mothers day credit - $100 click and collect credit = $329.20
Has anyone done this before?
Wonder if they'll say the store credit you get makes it not the identical item to the one on eBay. Also, the invoice for the item from eBay will have the full value on it and not the discounted figure. Not to mention this whole thing sounds unethical.
