How to Spend iTunes Credit That Is No Longer Useful?

Purchased $200 worth of iTunes vouchers on sale without realising I can't use them for Netflix any longer.

I know I should have checked before purchasing but this is in the past and I can't change it. The gift cards have been redeemed and added to my account now.

I am not a gamer or interested in buying movies or music subscription ( already have Spotify and Netflix with enough content).

What's the most value for money way to spend the $200 credit? I would love to get ingenious ideas to monetize this credit but happy to buy apps or subscriptions that are helpful to an average ozbargainer.

Use it to pay your ATO bill.

    • Sorry how can you do this? Or is it a reference to the ATO scam?

can send it to me and I'll make sure your ATO overdue debt is paid

    • good laugh, scammers tried a week ago

I know for Google Play there are apps that allow you to buy in-app purchases and they will send 55% of the money to your PayPal, not sure if there is one for iTunes

    • Thanks, will check

    • which app is safe to use for google pay?

      • Used to use woo woo wisdom but I believe that is not operating anymore.

You can give apps, books, music, even Apple credit as a gift.

Next few gift occasions, just buy something for your friends or family from your credit rather than from cash.

    • Most of my family and friends is an android user and I am stingy person after using ozbargain for 10 years

If someone gave me itunes credit as a gift, it would make me like them less, not more.

So “gift” the credit to someone who will pay you $150 for it….

Do you want to buy it? Sold for $150 :-)

          • @rits07: I'd be keen to do that gift of $200 for $150 if get desperate and can't figure out someone else that works (never knew you could even do that either).

It sounds like gifting your credit to someone is your best option unfortunately.
You could always cancel your Spotify for a while and use the credit for Apple Music instead (it works on Android) if you’re fine with switching streaming services.

    • Thanks for the idea.. I am using a family plan on Spotify that is paid by someone else.

    • I was looking at this as well. But just came across: "Gifts are charged to the payment method that you have on file for your Apple ID, even if you have balance available. You can't buy a gift with credit"

If you are in to sports, Kayo Sports can be paid through itunes.

    • Good to know

Will keep out a eye for cheap itunes cards for my Kayo sub when the NRL season starts again

  • I am sure there are paid apps you might find useful or in app purchases for apps you already use.

iCloud storage upgrades are your next best option, the 50gb plan cost $1.50 per month so your credit would last a while.

As you can gift credit to people you can always offer to sell that to friends and family for a discounted price.

  • You can still pay for Stan I believe (with a ~50c price premium over retail)…
