Something less than a Bluray but more than a CD.
I like to burn Mp4 files to DVD video format. Would this do the job?
No, this is for ripping, not burning.
I checked out the guide and it does not seem to support it. Some DVD players can directly play the video file, but in limited formats. The most popular is DivX/Xvid-encoded AVI file. There is a related (paid) video converter that can convert MP4 to that format. Free software like VLC can do the same thing.
Guide for VLC:
1. On the top menu, go to Media -> Convert/Save.
2. Click "Add" and select the MP4 file.
3. Click "Convert/Save".
4. Select "DivX player" as profile, click the bottom "Browse" and select the folder and the file name of the converted video. Use ".avi" extension.
5. Start.Alternatively, you can use "MPEG-2 + MPGA (TS)" profile that outputs to a ".ts" file, which some DVD players also support.
I last (>10 years) used Handbrake to burn DVD video, but it does not have DVD preset any more.
Dvd flick is free and does exactly this task very well.
Thanks OP!
Handbrake?
My first thought too
It won't do commercial DVDs. MakeMKV would work though.
What is a DVD ?
