  • That is just confusing lol.
To set up a japanese paypal wouldn't you need a japanese address?

Having to jump through hoops to get 2 year old games for $60.

Interesting use of the character 円

円 is the character for "yen" in Kanji

¥ is the symbol for yen as a currency.

It would be me like writing "60 dollars" vs "$60".

    • +6

      it's "Sixty dollars" dude…

    • +1

except stores in japan like BIC camera tend to use the 円. so ¥ is a more foreign thing to them.

    • +4

円 is what's used most often in Japan as a cost/currency indicator. Regards, I have lived there :P

      まず、聞いてくださいww

    • Japan is the land of the RRP on the packaging and that is usually 円. Their major auction site Yahoo uses it. It's standard enough.

  • Hmmm most of the prices seem to be almost average Aus retail prices?

    • Yup, but it's a download edition so interesting for people who don't like cartridge swapping.

      • Yeah true. I was in Japan only a week ago and I was heavily thinking about switching to digital but the price drops and licensing made me choose to stick to physical.

Can I Change the Nintendo Switch eShop Country?
    Applies to: Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch eShop will always match the country setting for your Nintendo Account. If you need to change your Nintendo Account country, you will access the Nintendo eShop for that country the next time you connect on Nintendo Switch.

    Important:
Your Nintendo eShop account balance does not carry over when you change the country that your Nintendo Account is set to. You will need to use the remaining funds in your Nintendo Account balance before you will be able to change the country.
If a Nintendo eShop exists for your region, credit cards issued from your region will not work in a different region’s eShop. (For example, credit cards issued for the U.S. will only work in the Nintendo eShop for North America.)

Why the downvote? You can create a second account.

    • +1

This applies to majority of consoles that you need a separate account to access their respective region store. Have you not seen US PSN deal threads?.

You can setup multiple region accounts in one console. I have AU,US,ASIA for my PS4 and AU,JP for my switch.

    • You can either change your region using a PC via the nintendo website. Or set up a Japanese profile to access the deals. Not sure why you are downvoting.

For anyone interested in Taiko no Tatsujin, although the description does not list English as one of the supported languages, but it does. I just bought it off the Japanese e-shop and it was in English.

    • How much was it?

      • +2

        After 20% off, 4900 yen
