damn, if you pay the postage will they post to vic?

    • The site says pay extra for delivery to Wollongong, Gosford, Canberra and Newcastle. Outside of that, no mention.
You could try contacting the reps through here to find out: http://www.vikingbeer.com.au/success/contact.html

Does it come with some nice ash? :D

Anybody know if the beer is any good? Some webpages I read suggest it's just one of the common beers in Iceland and exotic here simply because nobody has seen it before.

There are many local kickass beers overseas that have never made it to light here. However there are also many kickass local brews too.

      I thought vikings drink mead

Only when they're raping, pillaging and conquering. On weekends they just drink beer.

    • It's not the world's greatest beer by any stretch of the imagination but it's still better than "premium" Pilseners from here like Squires, Bluetongue etc. Comparable to something like Matilda Bay's Pilsener in quality. This is on tap though, haven't tried it bottled.

      • Cheers, thanks. Maybe I'll try some for the novelty value when I take some to friends. $1.60 a bottle is not bad.

          Careful, it makes you Horny

        • Maybe that's not a bad thing, considering the state I'm in. :)

  • anyone have any idea what the postage would be to newcastle?

  • Might be nice for sydney.

    Won't neg it or anything.

But I've got to say, they are pretending it's $85 value? It sounds like they are asking $25-35 for the courier there. No way is a carton going to cost that much normally, because nobody's going to buy it! If they are trying to establish themselves as a new entrant in the australian beer market, I'd suggest the $39 isn't far below true price.

My values are not meant to be exact.. but $85… c'mon!

Interesting things happened when I bought this deal. Their email mentioned times in UTC I think, and my CC provider called me up to double check that the transaction was legit because it appeared to come from overseas or some unknown biller, I couldn't be sure, it was an automated voice system and I was in a noisy place. Looks like the Groupon/Stardeals operation isn't totally Ozzified yet. Anyway I got my voucher and I hope it works. I'll let you know if there is any ash in the beer. :)

Well the beer arrived and to my surprise I got 48 bottles, twice as much beer as I ordered, for $39. I got two trays. Each tray holds 4 six-packs. However the Auspost sticker on each tray reads: 12 bottles. I don't know what happened but at 80c a bottle, I'm not complaining.

I'm drinking a bottle right now. The beer is light and quite alright. I wouldn't go out of my way to drink it, but if it were on a beer list, I'd certainly consider it. It's supposed to be full strength, but somehow it doesn't taste that str…. zzz zzz zzzz klunk
