NBN is finally available in my area. I eagerly went to change over from my 3-4 mbps ADSL service to the 12 mbps plan my provider (Exetel) offered when I last checked. But no….the 12 mbps plans have gone, and the next tier gives speed I do not need at, of course, a higher price. According to Exetel, NBN does not offer the 12 mbps option now. The article here supports Exetel's information
According to the article, around 25% of NBN customers are on 12 Mbps plans. They will have to upgrade (and up price) or find an alternative. I would not be happy.
Just a few weeks ago I asked Exetel about switching to the Optus 4G service from ADSL as the NBN seemed to be getting no closer, and was told I'd have to pay a hefty contract cancellation fee. That fee has now been waived, so I'm going 4G wireless ASAP.
Should add - I'm not in a Uniti or NuSkope zone (unlike my partner who has been happily wireless with Uniti for over 12 months), but have a 2300 Mhz Optus tower close.
Man, 3-4 or 12? With Optus it's either 50 or 100.
