  • Could you clarify: $20 is for the 1st month (starter kit) then $40 after that? or $20 for 5 recharge?

    • Title edited to clarify the offer. The starter kit is half price, the recharges are full price.

  • Woollies has voda sims 45gb for 20 bucks too. I'd say boost is better, telstra full, but voda has 35 day expiry. It's my second data sim, so….

  • I just got two of the $30… DAMN!

  • Be aware.
    - I started porting on Sunday (3 days ago)
My previous number has been ported to Telstra, but is not yet active.
So I can't make or receive calls unlike what Boost say about the number remaining active until the end of the process.
I've been lied to by 2 different Boost staff, and now online with a third.
    So much for 4 to 24 hours…

    • Are you porting from Telstra prepaid to Boost?
I am going to start the porting process on the 11 May and wonder if you or anyone can help with advice for a smooth transition.
I have already done online chat with Boost and they guaranteed the world but I have been told to be cautious.

      • +2

        Don't start a port on a weekend

        • You can start it online - but it won't begin the actual process (and the alleged 4-24 hour period until 8am Monday)

      • If you are porting from Telstra to Boost Mobile, you will need a special blank Boost Mobile SIM. Please call 1800 026 678 (8am-9pm AEST, 7 days) and we will send one out to you.

The above is from the just expired $135 boost Coles deal, info credit to user frkino.

You might need to contact them to sort out a simcard and to transfer the balance across to it from your starter pack or alternatively transfer to another provider for a copy of days in between the Telstra and Boost.

        • just to double check, you can also get this $40 for $20 deal if you're currently with telstra, right? I called boost mobile to order a blank sim to port my number and the lady told me I can't get this deal since I'm with telstra already?

          • @kurokaze: I don't know sorry, others in the past have said they have managed to swap the credit across from started packs.

            • @Nice one baby: I see… no worries in my case it's probably easier to take up telstra's prepaid max for now since it's rather a hassle to port number but not getting the boost deal (and I don't think I can swap credit across either since I'm currently on post paid)

    • Update - still waiting over 72 hours since the port started on Monday morning. Now speaking to my 6th different person. All have promised me 24 hours activation time. Port was completed within 12 hours. It's apparently an internal provisioning issue.

  • Any recommendations for data only sim with long expiry? Only need for data in the kids/car device

    • +1

Catch 375 GB for 210 AUD.

  • not ozbargain price…

  • Note the Cashback rates seem to be pro rata. So the cash back on the $40 starter pack will only be $3 instead of $6 as you are only paying $20 and not $40.

  • Does anyone know if the balance data could carry forward if I top it up with a yearly $150 plan?

    • I think no as per this clause when you attempt to recharge on Boost Mobile

Any unused data expires unless you recharge $20, $30, $40, $50 and $70 before expiry. For these recharge amounts, unused data will then rollover and expire at the end of the next 28 day period.

  • Any one knows if I can return the $30 prepaid sim (bought last week for $15) and get the $40 one (for $20 this week)? At coles…?
