Will it matter if I play Dark Souls 3 before playing the first 2?
Not particularly. There's a lot of lore but it's not exactly in your face, prepare to do some wiki digging to understand some stuff. People will suggest you play the older games first, DS3 is seen as the weakest in the Dark Souls franchise by some but it still has its fans. It's a great game either way.
Just buy it.
