OzB family, I just stumbled across A Decoder Guide To Scoring The Best Prices At Costco, and assuming it works the same in Aussie Costcos, this can be very useful. (I'm not currently a Costco member so cannot verify for myself.)
Quick examples: There’s a meaning behind pricing that ends in:
- .98 or .99 — retail prices
- .97 — manager specific discounts to move stock
- .88 or .00 — inventory dump: this is a deep discount, act quickly
Cheers
Thanks, will check out at my next visit.
