Huawei P20 Pro - Owners

To all Huawei P20 Pro owners,

I was wondering if you've experienced a black screen aka screen of death?

My P20 is only 4 months old and it suddenly turned off and never turned back on.

I was at JB and the sales guy said its very odd for a phone this new to not work.

I was just wondering if Huawei is that reliable? This is my first Huawei - not sure if I will repurchase after this ;/

Thanks for your feedback x

Huawei will spy on you without your consent, And sell your personal identifying information to the highest bidder. At least with Samsung and Google, and Apple, I consent to that spying

    • So will Samsung, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Woolies, Coles the list goes on…

So next time you restock Aluminium Foil to make your dinky hats, remember to turn location settings off, make sure you don't drive down any roads with live Webcams and do not swipe those rewards and credit cards!

I consent to that, Huawei just sell it.

lmao, you're delusional if you think Apple mine your data and sell it. They don't need to. They rely on fantastic hardware/software to retain their customers.

        • Are you being sarcastic?

        • Actually Apple do mine your data, but its too valuable for them to sell it to third parties, they use the data themselves.

          • @garetz: My apologies - I meant what you said. My data isn't sold to advertisers.

its very odd for a phone this new to not work.

He must be the jb senior technical advisor. That's the most intelligent response I've heard from a jb employee.

  • Sounds very odd, hasn't happened to me, should be able to claim warranty but likely you'll lose the data you have on it.

    • I lost all my data…

The phone was priced $999 - its been sent off for repairs.

If the phone was $1000 - then its 6 months full refund/exchange. So cruel!

      • What data? Most important data (photos, phone numbers, calendar entries, program settings) is backed up to google. The only thing I had to copy over from my old phone was my call logs and sms messages.

      • Is that right? If so - I would argue that buying a phone for $999 should qualify for all benefits of reaching the $1000 threshold.

        • i tried :/ he said he will check with his manager… and his manager said No :(

  • Not here. but anything change on the phone recent? New sw update? New apps? New app update? Something may have triggered it

    • Nope.

Im a pretty basic user - the normal social apps and camera :)
