Oh man.. this is heavy as.. good spec but considering the price, might wait a bit longer

    • How would this compare to the Anker powercore+ 26800?

  • +4

My 20,000 model is awesome so I feel this deal is worth every cent.

  • -1

"if not the most powerful powerbank out there at the moment."

    Absolutely ridiculous claim.

    • +2

I don’t think powerful here means mAh, rather flexibility, fast charging, a complete package.

      The price reflects this

    • This is a pretty good illustration of how not to debate. If you are seeking to change someone's mind, you cannot open with an insult (or a comment perceived to be an insult), because that will put the recipient on the defence, and will not accept anything you have to say.

Next time go "although I understand your point, I think it would be better to day [put idea forward, justify idea]".

You will find that you will be better at swaying people to your point of view if you take this approach.

  • I got this for $140 last year. It's a great unit, but it's HEAVY!

Includes USB-C-USB-A cable so you can recharge the power bank.

No cables are included, so I suspect that is an error.

    • I ordered mine earlier this week. Will confirm whether the cable is missing or not once I receive mine

      • +1

I received the powerbank today - the cable was included

    • Do you have any kitchen scales to weigh it on?

      • 640grams fyi

    • +1

Yep USB-C cable not included. Comes with a short mini-USB cable.
I agree it's huge and heavy. I prefer the 10,000mAh USB-C one which also shows the battery %.

    • +2

I bought one 2 weeks ago from Kogan. There is a small 10cm usb A to usb C cable included.

      • ^^^So who is correct here out of all these different above comments???^^^

Tend to believe "ejayt" as my Cygnett 20000mAh Pro also came with a short usb A to usb C cable late last year from that GG deal, but my Cygnett 10000mAh Pro only came with a short usb A to micro usb cable.

Checking the Cygnett website, and the documentation file linked on the same page, it is written inside:

To recharge your ChargeUp Pro, connect it to a USB power source using the included USB-A to USB-C cable, using the USB-C (60W-PD) port on the power bank

  • +3

Anyone know how much this weighs? I can't seem to find any info

Edit: nevermind, it's right there in the description! I skipped that and checked cygnett's page and google instead

    • +2

It's impossible, if only it was in the post!

  • Is there some sort of airline limitation on larger batteries?

    • 27,027mAh is the maximum. The 27,000mAh power banks sneak under the ceiling (assuming standard 3.7V batteries).

      • Nice!!!

        • But all the major airlines will let you take larger in Australia. Some require an email while others require you to state it at check in.

          • +1

@Clear: As a regular flyer, if I wanted more I'd probably prefer to take multiple packs under the limit to save the hassle. But good to know you can get around it domestically!

            • @snoopydoop: Yeah much easier to take multiple under the limit. Unfortunately most people aren't aware that it's possible up to 150Wh.

  • +2

glue three xiaomi 10kmAhs together for cheaper

    • not sure if u can charge a laptop doing that

  • Love my one of these I got late last year.

Charges my XPS 13 and Pixel flawlessly.

  • +3

I pack one of these around when I'm traveling. It's great for charging my MBP. Overall it is a great unit.

In my experience there are two downsides with this battery. Neither of them are critical, but they are somewhat annoying. The main one is that it doesn't negotiate PD for charging from my mac. This means I have to carry around 2 spare USB-C chargers. The second is that it doesn't do pass through charging. That means you can't charge a phone off it while the battery is charging. The work around is to charge my phone off my laptop.

Update this post with the REWARDAPR19 coupon brings it down to $105

    • Nice, thanks for this!

  • I just want it so I can amaze people with the ability to morph the middle port back and forth between USB-C & USB-A !!!

  • Will this be allowed in either check-in luggage or carry on?

    • Carry on yes
      Check in no

  • Be aware that you might not be able to get it through some airports due to 27000mAh capacity, as far as I know 20000mAh is maximum allowed at lots of airports.

    • +1

That is not correct. The limit isn’t even expressed in mAh!

It’s usually 100Wh. Depending on the voltage the cell is rated at, that is usually a limit of just over 27,000mah at 3.7V.

      • You are indeed correct, I can not recall where I got the 20000mAh info from, must be several years ago.

  • Was disappointed to find out that there's no pass through on this battery. It has enough capacity to charge an x1 extreme to 90+% from empty.

  • Would a retail store price match or at least get close?

    • no because it requires you to spend FF points rather than it being a sale. I mean you could try, but thats the justification that they would give to you.

Bought a Kogan 26800mAh/96.5Wh Powerbank. It's a heavy beast, but worth it. Haven't had issues boarding aeroplanes out of Australia and throughout Asia. Been charging my GoPro & two Galaxy phones on the go constantly, and has pass through.

The only quirk is, at approx 50% or below capacity, fast charge (QC 3 & PD) does not work, it reverts to standard charge speed. How do I know this? Because the Samsung Galaxy says "Charging" instead of "Fast charging".

    • Does PD still work (albeit slower), below 50%?

      • Yes it does.

  • Good find, I purchased this and the wireless charger and paid for about 30% with points.
I have the Kogan 28000 power bank but it only ever worked a couple of times with my MacBook Pro 15”, still fine for lower watt devices etc but disappointed.
I’m expecting a better quality cell and controller in this…

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Floureon-PD-60W-USB-C-Power-…
here's something similar for almost half the cost.

    • This is good value. There are very few PD 60W+ power banks available at a decent price

    • That's identical in appearance to the Kogan Power Bank.

      https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-26800-mah-powerbank-60w-p…

      • hah……rebranded….and kogan's is cheaper

      • Not quite

      • The Kogan version has QC3 where the ali version does not. Also seems bit lighter too, maybe the newer revised version from Kogan, dropped in price to $59 + delivery.

        • +1

The Aliexpress listing is for the C908-PD Floureon PD 60W USB C Power Bank Charger 26800mAh https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Floureon-PD-60W-USB-C-Power-…. The same C908-PD is sold on Amazon.

          https://www.amazon.com/FLOUREON-Delivery-26800mAh-Portable-C…

          【60W USB Type C, QC 3.0 Faster Recharged】

          • @whooah1979: Thanks for more info. The one from amazon is the same model number C908-PD as sold by ali and both state

630gr/139pounds, so maybe Kogan has rounded off the weight spec to 600gr. The sizes are all same/within 1mm.

I personally have the Kogan 26800mAh usb C PD model/clone and so far really happy with it's performance and solid build ( not sure

about durability/reliability yet as still only on his second re-charge cycle ).

            • +3

@ozhunter68: The manufacturer of that power bank for both Kogan and Floureon is Trusda. They've rounded off to 600g on their wholesale channels ;)
