      :-))

    • Depends… Do you like it sticky?

  • That's a good price for a loose date. Do they specify how loose?

    • Maybe you need to try it yourself as everyone has a different taste.

  • Product of USA !!! …. Always thought dates came from somewhere in middle east.
Anyway does not matter . Medjool dates are the best of the lot.

    • -1

I thought dates came from China cuz Medjool is the pronunciation of “Honey date” in Chinese.

    • Apparently California grows a lot of dates though originally all dates are from the middle east - must be a profitable business. I even saw ones from Mexico in a local produce store in Sydney.

      • There's what, roughly 1.7 billion muslims and it's traditional to break the daily fast with dates. That's a lot of potential dates to be sold. I'm always a little surprised that the price drops rather than rises during this time of increased demand but I assume the market is flooded with dates in response.

Medjool dates are also a produce of Israel.

The only dates I purchase are Nakheel Palestine medjoul dates. They are sweet and chewy.

      • +3

Where do you buy them from?

    • I heard most of the Medjool dates from USA were cultivated from Iraq?

      • +5

And then taken for enhanced interrogation?

      • Medjool packed in the USA is from Israel

        • Don't they say Californian though?

ramadan mubarak for those who are going to fast in ramadan

    • is it considered haram to do ramadan just for the health benefits?

      • Not at all… why would you think that… you're just fasting…

      • +1

No. It's not. The reward is for your intention though

    • You meant too fast?

  • +6

Thanks, op, I'm going to buy a kg of these and have them gift wrapped and sent to Pauline Hanson as a mid election good luck present 😀

    • Watch out she might start giving you a bit of a grope like Brian Burston

  • I dont like soft sweet wet dates, i like mine hard and dry and not so sweet.

  • -4

The ones from Israel have black dirt inside them. I will never buy again.

  • Make sure you open dates before eating them to make sure there's no black soot
