  • Flashback!! I thought Laplink disappeared back in the days of MS-DOS, Quarterdeck's QEMM386, Norton Commander etc etc… Does it still run in console mode? Does laplink still use cross-over Parallel cables? I would have thought that TCP/IP and ethernet would have made a product like this redundant? I might download this one out of curiosity!

  • To shift a working system via USB cable

    Brilliant :D

    Thanks for the heads up

    Ozzie

  • Give you +1 as it's free offer :)

however, it doesnt' include the laplink gold 2008, it's only the other software "pcmover"..

  • young_dazza, you can't be too young if you can remember QEMM386 and Norton Commander (4DOS anyone?) ! I too remember Laplink and building my own parallel cable. Can't believe they are still around.

    • QEMM386 hehe.. long before the MSDOS launched the latest v6.0 with its own high memory operation .. load something beyond 640KB ram .. woohooo…

      • Yeah I remember Laplink as well and how it was about the only convenient way copying files between two network-less PCs (other than unreliable floppies). As of QEMM386 and all that expand/extend memory junks — why do you guys need that? I think 640kb ought to be enough for everyone?

  • Try to download but getting this error

    Bad Gateway

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.

    • Yep, they mentioned that they're having a hard time keeping up with all the downloads. Try http://www.sendspace.com/file/lfjz1i or just wait a couple days. You have your serial number so you can download whenever you want.

  • Damn, I would have got the first comment in but was running late and left the house before I could finish what I was writing…

Was just gonna say I had no idea this software was still around, I too remember it from the old OLD days… serial cable anyone? lol

+1 coz its free, I don't see any need to get it though.

    • Well, to be honest - it makes it a lot easier for people who don't have an understanding on how to transfer stuff.

  • true. what i meant to say was i didnt have any personal need for it myself. not to take anything away from it.

  • What a bunch of nerds and geeks, voting 1+ for something they probably won't even use.

    I like it.

  • can someone expire this deal? it is no longer valid.

  • EXPIRED

    EXPIRED

    • What, do you go around making negative votes to every expired offer?

      • well a negative vote when mine is getting close to yours in the rankings works wonders… But hey that wouldn't be true or would it??

Coincidence maybe, but massoud also voted negative on this deal and the others currently high in the rankings while they voted positive of osims oxygen power
