My housemate had a Dyson V6 and I used it and loved it. Now I have moved out to my own place and need to buy my own cordless vacuum cleaner. Never heard of Xiaomi before but have recently read some good things about it from OzBargain fellows. Please help me decide!

Agreed, the Dyson eats a battery about every 24-30 months depending on usage. We just installed our 3rd battery into the dyson stick, but it gets used daily and lasts about ~24 months for us.
Xiaomi CS would require sending it back to China I guess :(
i heard dyson battery is user replaceable with just a few screws , is that right ?
if that's so, then not much adv. on the LG then but still good to feature power-tools-like-battery-pack-swap
Yes the dyson one is either 1 or 2 screws, slips out, slips in.
My point was, the battery even on a dyson dies every 2 years, at least with the dyson you can buy replacement parts locally for them unlike the Xiaomi dreame.
The dream will be a nightmare when you want to claim under warranty
I got the Dreame for 298 off eBay with a 10% code a week ago. Has been great so far but like others have said, warranty could be iffy.

I have the Xiaomi Dreame and love it. Still new so can’t comment on longevity but I have many other xiaomi products including the gen 1 robot vacuum cleaner still going strong after years. I highly rate their stuff and can attest the xiaomi will be better out of the box than the Dyson. See YouTube video below:

I'd say go the Dyson as CS good if you have issues. Not so sure about Xiaomi CS. By the way I'm not convinced by these cordless vacs for battery life. Just saying. The batteries don't last very long either for use. Good for random clean ups or small spaces.
