Mitsubishi Lancer Aspire 2009 Sat Nav DVD

Hi there,

This is my first post here, have been following the forum discussion for quite sometime. Watching people are very active, forward and helpful, I thought I would ask a question too.

I have recently bought a Mitsubishi Lancer Aspire 2009 (second hand). The built-in Sat Nav runs via a dvd, version 2007.

I am wondering if any of the OzBargain members would be able to point to the direction on how to update the maps? Or source the latest DVD or download from somewhere?

Has someone faced this situation before? I am sure it doesn't have a SD card option in case someone was going to suggest.

Thanks for your time.

I would still email them to make sure its compatible. When I had a lancer this is what i used but this was 7 years ago

    • Thanks a lot. I will have a look at the link.

    • Woah ok my bad…. stay right away… they may have changed to be more dodgy then since the ages ago i got it… Mitsi dealership is the best then or yea google maps

      • Well the dealership was kind of hopeless. The guy in the parts department said that this sat nav model was discontinued in 2012. He won’t be able to assist further. Also mentioned that try to contact original maps provider, details must be on that dvd.

  • Could try getting in contact with TomTom as I think they were the ones that did the maps for these vehicles.

The other thing to try may be to trawl through some of the Mitsubishi forums and see what others have done. There may be more help there as well.

    • Thanks for your input. I will try.

  • Probably the same system I had in my 09 Pajero. IMO not worth it, the maps were never completely up to date with plenty of roads, even older ones, missing. The updates cost a fortune from the dealer as well. I complained to Mitsu and they told me to use a TomTom instead if I wasn't happy with it. Great customer service. I just used Google maps instead. That nav system was my one and only complaint with the vehicle.

    • I never doubt on google maps in comparision with Sat Nav. It is handy sometimes when travelling though. Only bought the vechile few days ago and still trying to figure out things in the Mitsi Communcation System. I must say, pretty advanced for the age (2009). Thanks for your input. Cheers.
