Hisense 75P7 Vs LG 75UK6500PTB

I'm in the market for a new 75" tv and am tossing up between these two. They both are around the same price and I am not sure which is better. I am also sceptical about Hisense as LG is better known but I could be wrong. Let me know your thoughts.

Both of these TVs have been on OzBargain for below $1600 (in the "related products" section under your post), so the JB HiFi sale price seems a bit high at nearly $2000.

Wait for a better deal and you may save $400 or more.

That said, the internet consensus seems to be that the 75p7 is the better purchase thanks to having a notably superior panel and a 3yr warranty.

I haven't seen either TV myself. Read these threads for some people's opinions:

  • Hisense on eBay for $1995, use a discount code (unless you have discounted jb gcs)

My number one reason for choosing LG is the magic air remote. It makes it easy to "type" on the virtual keyboard by using the air mouse.

The problem with the LG is that it has an IPS panel.

It is great to view on angles and during the day however terrible viewing blacks in the evening as it has a inconsistent grey scale/DSE.

As the poster above mentions, the magic remote is really easy to use and handy.

I would wait for the Samsung RU7100 to go down in price which is the replacement for the NU7100 and have a look at that too.

    Cheers

  • How about Sony KD75X7800F 75" which of same price?

    • Yes, that caught my eye after I posted this. The general consensus is that the Hisense is better than the LG but I am not sure how it stacks up to the Sony.

Depends if you'll mainly be looking at the TV straight on. Hisense use VA panels which have about 5X the contrast and at least double the brightness of the IPS panel that LG use. You'll lose clarity, colours and brightness when viewing the Hisense at extreme angles. Not to say that LG will have great angles but it will be better. HDR will look so much better on Hisense as they can produce so much better blacks and the difference in highlights will be more pronounced. Hisense smart features are limited. LG are better but still nowhere near the apps range of an android TV OS like a Sony. Sony only has VA panel for the X9000F which is top 2 or 3 LED TV's available at the moment. The rest of Sony's range is only IPS
