      Did you read the deal?

It's currently not active on TheFork however, the T&Cs indicates it will be available from the 14th of May

  • +9

FYI the participating restaurants list isn't completely accurate. I booked last time this promotion ran and when it came to pay the restaurant didn't accept Amex cards at all.

    • have u tried getting a statement credit from amex?

    • I booked and paid but never got the credit.

  • One booking per card?

    • I'm wondering about this as well, usually for other deals, T&C's say it's one, but can't find it here.

  • +1

This is forking brilliant! Thanks OP, just need to set a reminder now

  • +2

I hate these deals that are posted so far in advance as the reminder function never works for me. I wish they improved it.

    • +1

You could add an alarm reminder in your phone.

Dimmi was a terrible name. This is an improvement

Does this stack with entertainment book discount?

    • Also curious…I vaguely remember it does from the last deal..

    • Yes because Amex doesn't know if you used an entertainment book voucher.

    • Yeah I've done it before. In fact, this time round I decided to write scraper and listed potential stackable deals

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/457235

  • What happened to Dimmi reward points? I had over 10000 when trip advisor took over

    • Didn't they send you an email about the change?

      • There was no mention of what would happen to dimmi rewards in the welcome to The fork email or subsequent emails

        • They remain as-is

          • -3

@SydOzber: Thanks, logged in to check and my points are safe :)

  • Link leads to a 404 page.

The start of the deal used to read:

Looks like this offer will be back soon. It's currently not active on TheFork however, the T&Cs indicates it will be available from the 14th of May. Post will be updated as soon as there is more information available.

The website then became active so I edited the deal. I'm also getting the error page now. I'm not sure why TheFork has disabled the page.

  • Zero restaurants participating in Adelaide

    • Same with Sydney :\

    • now it's showing one restaurant - Crusoe's Restaurant West Lakes - which is still disappointing.

  • Checked it out just now, nothing showing up for Melbourne

    • I don't think it is live yet because the expiry still shows March. Maybe it will be refreshed later in the day.

    Showing now!

    This page isn’t working
    dpui.americanexpress.com didn’t send any data.
    ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

  • Page not working too. Wonder what to do?

  • I tried to sync my card and it said the card was already synced from last time. Easy.

  • Thanks!

  • Can you stack with points redemption bookings?

  • Crazy stacking potential with existing offers or entertainment book.

For example if you spend exactly $50 and book a 50% off offer, you will be only paying $5!

    • +3

"For example if you spend exactly $50 and book a 50% off offer, you will be only paying $5!"

Cant really understand this. You need to spend exactly $50 or more to get $20 back to your account. So if you only spend $50 and get 50% offer, you only pay $25 and not eligible for $20 cashback.

      • Oh ooops, you are right hehe. It should be that you can get a $100 meal for $30.

    • You've inspired me to write a small scraper. I've listed this as a deal which shows potential stackables. Hope this helps

Can this be done multiple times or is it only one credit per card?

  • Thanks OP, just what i needed :)

  • Damn - TGI Fridays no longer listed on the website - used to love stacking this offer with a BOGOF main meal from the entertainment book.

For people in PERTH, the Raffles Hotel in Applecross has half-price pizzas on Wednesday evenings.

    Two pizzas
Two pints of beer (or two $10 cocktails)
    One dessert (to share)

    will be ~$30 after AMEX

(NB: I have no affiliation with The Raffles, it's just a good spot.)

    anything good in Melbourne?

  • +2

Crap list of Melbourne restaurants.. all overpriced, overrated.. getting $20 off would do nothing to the bill for 2+ ppl and defiantly wouldn’t make it worthwhile.

    • agreed.

  • Any good entertainment book offer in Melbourne which stakes with this?

Checked out the fork 50%, and there's only one place. Hopefully there'll be more to come I guess!

    • Heaps of them around Sydney, Stack Stack Stack

    • Din Tai Fung at Emporium, bookable via the Fork and stackable with Entertainment book.

  • Can you do takeaway with thefork?

  • Seems like its started

cant say there are too many places on that list in melbourne

  • Anyone knows if this will work if we book using the Rewards point (and still spending over $50 on top)? So maybe can get $20 from the Rewards and $20 from Amex?

  • Loving my Entertainment Book, but also my AMEX! Im preety sure tho, with most of these restaurants EB is better EG with AMEX if I eat at Automata and spend $200 I get $20 back (Im pretty sure you only get $20, not $20 for every $50 spent??) If I use my Entertainment Book Offer I get $50 back - way way better with EB?!?!?!

  • Hi. is this only for once off or can we use it multiple time to get the $20 credit

    • +1

      multiple

      • Multiple times at the same restaurant?

        • +3

Yes. I did it 3 times.

  • stack this with -50% food offer?

    • Yep; got a Fratelli Fresh set menu for about $18 thanks to this promotion

  • -2

Is this valid for multiple uses or single uses only?

  • Can't seem to link my Amex. Anyone else having issues?
TheFork website is directing to https://dpui.americanexpress.com/AU/au/programme-Dimmi-ameri… which doesn't load :(

    • Hmmm, never mind. The site didn't work in Chrome but did in Edge. Weird.

  • been invited to a expensive place for a group of 8, as a last minute addition

is there a way to use my amex card?

Is the only way to cancel the original booking, rebook under my own name and use my card?

    • +1

You must log in and sync your eligible card at thefork.com.au/amex prior to booking and dining at a participating restaurant.

      So I think so, yes
