Can get a companion cube for $10 here

  • Must chew through the butane cans..one per how many mins at say 42 C. Assuming incoming water at 23 C

    • I'm not sure. My mate said theirs lasted 2 showers daily for a week. I'll try to find some stats

      Well that was easy, 412 g/hr @ 100%.
Most $9 propane cans are 483g
      10x 5 minute showers at 100%

    • Review on SCA itself suggests 50min per can. Seems ambitious. But with pre warmed water with a solar shower I can see this working OK..ish.

    • FYI coleman make an adaptor which converts from that special propane tank fitting to standard LPG fitting, so you don’t have to buy the $$ propane tanks, making the shower much more ozbargin friendly lol

i use the anywhere rinser bucket for all my shower and cleaning needs when camping. i heat a small amount of water on gas or fire mix the 22l bucket to my liking and it’s the best shower when camping . Ive tried most brands and this is the best way for me

    • 24L capacity, isn't this bucket very bulky to be transported around?

      • Not at all It has sooo many uses whilst camping, its powerful enough to remove mud from a car, 5m hose reaches my shower, kitchen sink, car and feet wash off area with no movement of the bucket at all.. Bloody perfect and 3 or 4 times better than the primus high flow shower or the other ones i tested prior to finding this solution.

        • Cheers. I just thought the bucket a bit too bulky to be packed into the car along with hundreds of items I will be bringing along.

          • @edfoo: remember it is empty when transporting it, so you can fit heaps of stuff inside it when driving to and from your campsite, so its not that bad on space really considering you can fill it with those hundreds of other things we take. Believe me it’s a good shower with good pressure

  • pressure is AWESOME

Comes up as $179 for me. Do we need a code or something?

    • Looks like the Easter sale ended

  • This is overkill, but Soooo cool.

    • But we want warm shower, not cool.

  • This seems a little excessive for "camping", if that is what it is targeted for.
I find the cheap solar shower with a black bag very simple to use.
If I can't heat it with the sun then I heat water in a kettle on the fire then pour it into the solar shower, it works a treat.
It weighs less than 500g, very compact and gives an adequate shower.
I also have a 12V shower which is basically a tiny pump a little bigger than a tennis ball which you drop into a bucket of water, it has a 1.5M hose and shower head. This is also tiny, it would easily fit into a mens toilet case and weighs under 1KG and provides a consistent flow, both these items are far more suitable than this contraption that looks (and probably weighs) like the size of a welder!!

    • It's more for "glamping".
I also have both solar shower bag and the 12V shower kit, never used them yet.
Problem with solar shower bag is like you have said, you need hours of sun to heat the water inside the bag, but boiling some hot water also works too. Also trying to lift a 19L bag full of water overhead and trying to find somewhere to hang it can also be a problem.
The 12V shower kit is compact but you need to power it, and while camping I can only power it with my 40kg AGM battery, not as easy to move around.

Been using the Coleman hot water shower for over 10 years when 4wdriving all over The High Country. Has many uses. They are combursome to lug around though, surgically when you have other gear. You can also put the pump right into the river, make sure it doesn't hit the bottom though. Think about the wildlife (using right soap etc) …..
