  • Cashback is not eligible if shopping via the Groupon App after clicking from the Cashrewards App

When i click on groupon, it auto opens the app.
So does. This mean that if i go throguh the cr website and not cr app, I'm fine?

So many ways they don't have to pay

Still waiting on my last cashback for a groupon purchase and have had to raise a claim. Cashrewards has been unresponsive after the first few messages - no idea whether I will get it or not.

    • We respond to every single ticket. Please turn on messaging and PM me your CR email address & ticket number so I can look into your issue. Thanks.

      • +6

It happened to me twice and your comment was I didn't follow instructions. Well I did and I can tell you it is hit and miss with the phone app. Feels more like a cashback lottery.

        • I have not ever received a PM from you for assistance, and I can assure you it’s not a lottery.

          • +6

@tightarse: I posted on one of the last 15% cashback deals. If your public response was to simply dismiss me as somebody that can't follow instructions. What good is a private message to you? Cashrewards should look at fixing the problem with the app. Rather than ridiculing users and denying all responsibility.

            • +5

@zealmax: I don’t publicly dismiss anyone for no reason, and if it came across this way I apologise. If you don’t want to PM me, that’s fine but I can’t fix the issue for you unless you do. I’m only trying to help.

            • @zealmax: Seems to be the typical patterns of reps

Offer to speedily fix it so it looks good, then either string you along or just tell you the same outcome

              • -2

@Samsungnote10: The problem is with the users and not the reps most of the time. Just look at the countless stupid posts made weekly in the forum where a simple reach out to the site/rep could have resolved that.

Downvoting reps who are offering to help just fuels the problem. What else do you want them to do?

                • @Clear: I am not familiar with these posts you are referring to

But, if you dont click the link and expect a cashback, that is just plain stupid, I've forgotten to click before.

But many people do the right thing and dont get the cashback and have a nightmare of a time following it up. I've had a few of those.

The worst one I had was 12 months it wasn't confirmed and then got declined. It was a Hotel site

                  • @Samsungnote10: There are posts nearly everyday that are borderline troll in the forum's but considering how people are in these posts it's not surprising.

Hotel sites are usually the worst because CC rewards like AMEX and their own in-house reward programs usually interfere with cashback.

                    • @Clear: Yes my experience with hotel sites has been pretty poor.
However for every thing else, it's been pretty good for me

                    • -1

@Clear: To mix forums and deals was the worst decision, the place is full of trolls and snowflakes.

        Hi,

The first responses were fine and as per typical "support script". Have not had any comms following.

        PM'd

      • +3

Why we have to chase each and every ticket ?
I have got better things to do rather than to spend my free time on that

    • +2

TA has addressed the communication/responsiveness. However, whether my claim is honoured remains to be seen and dependent on Groupon it seems. Buyer beware.

    • +3

There does appear to be some "wrinkles" with regards to Groupon and cashbacks (both providers), but my own recent experience is that TightArse has been very, very helpful in resolving any problems, even when the amounts involved are small.

Cashback is not honoring Groupon cash rewards. Currently in dispute with Cashrewards for 6 purchases made at Groupon. Only gave me one cashback out of 7 purchased deals. Time consuming to chase Cashrewards for couple of dollars rewards.

    • +6

I’ve commented in previous posts to please PM me. I have no idea what more I can do if you won’t make contact. It’s a little concerning you have 6 untracked claims for Groupon and I want to help you work out why this is happening if you’d give me the chance. The offer is open to send me your details.

Also, having items pending and in dispute is not the same thing as ‘not honouring’. This is another reason I want to look into your stated claims as we don’t make the call on what is approved and what isn’t. Only Groupon can. Thanks.

  • Reps are ALWAYS helpful however the plain truth is the Cashback 'process' initially fails for me when I rigidly follow this 'process' at least 50% of the time. What follows is a time-consuming round of emails pursuing small amounts. It's apparent from comments here this is a widespread problem. It's like 'fail at first' is actually designed in .. :<( .. !!

  • There has been a few times for me that Groupon purchase were not tracked, and I must admit I did get good responses after submitting claims, and now I do screenshots every time, including a purchase just now. And this time, Groupon did an epic fail, I used the promo code, and it gave me $3.00 discount, oh well, I proceed anyway. Then when it went to PayPal, it reverted back to the original amount. So, no discount for me, and not sure if I will get Cashback. Sorry, it’s a meh for both promotions.
