  • Back in stock as of 5pm on the 24th of April, just bought one.

  • nah no stock

  • Yeha unfortunately I'm getting out of stock online and in store. :(

  • Their online service is abysmal

      Please include more specifics.
We recently purchased a LEGO set from them online (target.com.au) and the item was available for pick-up within a few days.
Process was very quick & easy, the item was even inside an over-sized box with additional padding.
We were very satisfied and went as far as to leave them a review when one was requested by email.

      • I have tried to purchase this twice from their online store. Item was supposedly in stock and available for C&C.

Both times purchase was cancelled due to insufficient stock

  • One of the great Lego builds.

    • Been looking at the deal’s on this one, thought it would get cheaper (clearing stock or unpopular item due to the number of deals).
Seems like everyone’s been buying them at this discounted price so the price has been steady.
The entire thing is 1m tall that’s impressive for the price.

This set won't get discounted due to lack of interest. Its always been a good seller and i feel Lego are artificially restricting supply.

Pretty sure $170 is RRP. So it’s been slightly over 30% off based on deals here.
I know what you mean though I may be expecting too much for it to get cheaper.

  • Damn missed out, I just visited Kennedy Space Center and saw Saturn V in the hangar.

    • Awesome isn't it! Saw it in 1998 and still remember it well.

  • Anybody else have issues with getting the vent parts to sit properly on their one of these? Mine are all sitting weird and I can't workout how to get them to sit flush.

    • All the parts don't quite fit right. It's not up to the standard I'm use to from Lego. Top of my upper stage just isn't sticking properly at all. Lots of pieces had to be forced/jammed on.

      • The parts where you click the vents on the top section to the red and yellow clips and then push them in made no sense at all. This is the first lego I've used since I was a kid but it was nothing like I'd seen before.

Maybe they were so obsessed with getting 1969 pieces that they had to make weird design decisions. These are minor qualms though, it's exceptionally good value for $120.

I bought this in the last deal and just put it together with my family (10 year old, 8 year old) over 2 days of the Easter long weekend. (Not full days. Started one afternoon, took breaks doing other stuff and finished next.). Truth be told I put most of it together but my wife and kids all did do more than a couple of bits. If you want to build it fast you could probably get it done in 3-6 hours depending on how fast you build.

    The positive:
    - Big and solid.
    - Nice and stable standing up (so long as you have flat ground).
    - 3 stages separate nicely.
    - Looks impressive, especially from a distance.
    - Booklet that came with it is nice and has some history included.

    The negative:
    - I'm use to Lego pieces fitting better than these did. A couple of bits at the top of the rocket could do with bluetac or glue as they keep falling off/apart. A lot took force to squeeze together.
    - Insides don't really resemble the insides of a rocket - There are compartments for the engines and the lander but other than that the inside is just an overly complicated set of Lego pieces arranged in a pretty pattern. That would be my biggest gripe.
    - Instructions were pretty good but not perfect as you couldn't tell sometimes with the perspective views exactly what level the pieces should attach. Beware of the partial symmetry. It's very easy to get one of the sides on the wrong axis, and that could require you having to backtrack and pull things apart. All that said, it wasn't terribly hard for an adult who has even limited familiarity with Lego.
    - Horizontal stand is precarious and just bad.
    - Very few spare pieces. Don't lose any! (True for any kit though)

    I haven't seen better for $120.

Here's a review that has nothing to do with me so you have more than 1 point of view.
