Yamaha YAS-108B Soundbar - $179.10 C&C from The Good Guys

130
GOOD10

Yamaha YAS-108B cheap with today's GG code. Annoyed I paid $10 more for the ATS-1080 version from Bing Lee last week (and won't be covered by my 28 degrees card because of the different model code).

Original GOOD10 deal

  • What is the difference between the two?

My understanding is that they're the same unit, but produced under different codes to avoid price-beating promises for US chains.

does the YAS207 with sub make a huge difference?

    • +1

I have the YAS-207, got it for $345 with HN a couple weeks ago. I think it is great at that price however I haven't listened to the 108B. Either way this would be great value too, depends on how much you want to spend. I think you can get a sub hooked up to this later if you want (from memory)

I cant say too much about the 207's sub, but I have a 108 unit and I personally think it needs an external sub to make it perfect.
Not to say that it's bad or anything, I actually think it's freaking amazing bang for buck but it is lacking bass (only so much you can do in a sounds bar)

I have plugged in my external sub using an RCA cord to it and then it sounds freaking great, especially for the price.
I'm just going to par it with a wireless sub kit (like this: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B077BSZN9J/?coliid=I3JID4ILS2FL…)
And then use my own sub I reckon instead of looking for a cheap 207 deal

Good advice. Personally, I don't want the sub right now in terms of aesthetics in that room, but I liked the fact that the 108 can take one later if I end up moving it.

Fair enough, the YAS-207 sub is wireless (just requires power) so I have my soundbar wall mounted under my TV and the sub on the rear wall, works great for me

@Pete331: Don't get me wrong - the 207 looks great/better. But I watch most of my TV after the kids are in bed so I'm primarily seeking the clearvoice function as i need the volume relatively low and the closed captions can get in the way. The sub wouldn't really be used, so I didn't want to have to justify why it was taking up space! ;-)

I compared both in store and no sub just didn’t cut it for me. Easy choice to get the one with sub.

In my experience, with price protection claims they don't really look into the details too much if you're claiming under $50. Just put it through as the same model and I can almost guarantee they'll approve it. You're allowed to claim across retailers now, so just go for it IMO.

    • thanks - will see what happens. Barely worth the effort, but will have a go. ;-)

  • Same price at Hardly Normal too.
