Oh cool, for a carton, not a bad price…. 2 six packs? (profanity) that.

    • +3

Do you know where you can get a better price? If you don't like good beer, you can get corona or fifty lashes or singing if your don't like good beer

      • Haha.. when does a beer not become a beer when it hits $50 Bottle then what.

        • Then if you want it, you pay $50 for the bottle? Not sure what you are getting at…..

  • +2

What universe did I just wake up in where $30/6pk is a thing?

    • +7

the universe where the swill that use to be called beer is still available for the plebs.

      • +5

        Brewtal

      • Swill is $20 a six pack lately.

Basically its a slab or ALDI. Or supermarket dockets.

      • +1

        Yeah nice burn…

Anyone who will blindly pay $30/6pk for something that costs cents to make needs to reconsider how some simple marketing like "craft" or "microbrewery" goes to their head.

Anyway, plenty of decent smaller breweries around me charging much more reasonable rates, who I happily support. Look around and you'll find this is not reasonable pricing, regardless of how micro or crafty it seems.

  • +5

    $30 per 6 pack….

"craft beers" became "luxury beers" at some point over the past 2 or 3 years!!

    • +3

These type of beers sell for ~$20-$25 for a four pack. I won't buy a $1000 phone because that's insane but I'd buy a $500 one and spend the rest on beer 😂

    • You can still get cheap craft beer mate.

      • teach me your ways haha, where can you get cheap crafts? IPAs even? closest i've seen to cheap craft style beers are at brews brothers brisbane for i think $40/carton, however it's fill-your-own 2xcartons at a time, which i don't really have room for as they have to be kept refrigerated.

        • I never said they were good……

  • +1

Drink it like you were drinking a bottle of red wine.

Released in 2012 by the Hop Breeding Company, LLC, Mosaic hops feature complex but clean flavor characteristics and are known for their triple-use profile encompassing bittering, flavor and aroma. They have high alpha acids but low cohumulone which makes them pleasantly hoppy, carrying flavors of mango, pine, citrus and herbs and aromas of tropical and stone fruit. Mosaic is the first daughter of Simcoe and Nugget as has been humorously referred to by some as “Citra on steroids”. - Hoplist.com

I regularly buy IPAs. This is a great deal

  • Usually $30 per 6pack.

    Whaaaat !!!

  • As a non drinker, what does IPA stand for other than IsoPropylAlcohol.

I assume even aussies arent f'd up enough to try drinking that yet.

    • -1

Institute of Public Affairs - they drive you to drink

    • Why do non -drinkers always have to tell everyone they don’t drink? We don’t care.

      • Same with people who are vegan…

      • It'd be like a car driver not knowing what a 'brake' is.

If you drink, i assume you know what IPA means.

Its just to cover your ass because people on the internet lack sensitivity, and if you dont cover your ass people will attack you claiming you're an idiot. 'Hurr durr you dont know what it means?'

        No, ive never needed to.

        • As I said, we don’t care.

    • Insanely Pricey Ale. Either that, or India Pale Ale.

    • Indian Pale Ale, referring to the altered recipe against traditional Pale Ales which was required to ensure the beer lasted the trip to India. More hops = more shelf life = more bitterness = more alcohol.

Hops are expensive & higher alcohol percentages also incur higher taxes. If you like a commercial malt driven beer good luck to you, no need to come on here spouting off about how expensive these types of beers are.

You enjoy your beers, I'll enjoy mine.

Also as beer drinkers we need to unite against those alcopop heathens!

    • +2

I'll spout on ozbargain as much as I like, thank you very much!

The fact is, the industry has identified this gap in the market. People are prepared to pay $25 or $30 for what they deem to be a quality beer. (I'm just as guilty, I love Balter 4 packs).

Soon it'll be cheaper to go out to the pub and drink there, instead of at home…..

    • Hops are expensive

it is literally a weed. it grows so rampantly at hop farms.

      • Lol people have no fn idea. Good are cheap af

        • Lol, like yourself perhaps? Google it and learn

    • +1

I'm uniting against anyone who wants to charge $30/6pk. Pirate Life boast their new automated brewery will can 12-15 million litres a year. Hardly "crafty" if you ask me but be my guest and pay whatever you like it's your cash to burn.

  • +2

These are quite nice. Very balanced beer.

Not a terrible price for a carton - but I expect PirateLife beers to come down in price as they have ramped up production in Port Adelaide. Hardly a small brewery by any measure anymore.

  • +1

Get Karl Strauss Tower 10 IPA per pack of 6 instead
    Normally $28.49 now $14.88

  • At this rate I better pull out the home brew gear, or sell the house. 😜

    • True… Home brew is better than all the store bought rubbish when you work out what you are doing.

  • +3

This seems like beer in a fancy can with a fancy name for a ridiculous price. I'm all for good beer but common this whole craft beer is becoming a joke.

    • Apparently you aren't all for good beer then. Stick with your Iron Jack.

    • +1

Evidently these beers will be snapped up quickly and its not because of the fancy can or the fancy name. Its good beer.

  • +2

I like these but geez they're expensive, and they're like eating a full f**** meal.

  • +1

while im a sucker for their mosaic, think about supporting independents instead
