This toilet paper is actually half decent for 100% recycled paper.

  • +5

$40.88 delivered for the Bamboo version

    • Thanks for the tip, I prefer that one.

  • +10

    This is a shit deal…

    • +3

      You're such an arse! ;-)

  • +6

FYI, their bamboo tissues are actually quite nice as well. Mrs. Z is fond of the fact that all their rolls are packaged in paper instead of plastic, so it's easily recyclable or compostable.

    • +4

as a side note, you can recycle the soft plastic that store-bought TP comes in via the Redcycle bins

    • Hmm just saw reviews on a link posted below that people had problems with the bamboo toilet rolls. Tissues are probably fine if you don't flush them.

      • No, I wouldn't flush the bamboo tissue (nose or loo) at all. The recycled paper is just fine, we found it plays quite nicely with our septic system and breaks down readily.

How does this compare with Quilting in terms of quality? I'm all for buying for a good cause but need some assurance it isn't crap and end up having to use twice or thrice as much

    • +2

It's pretty good, a bit sturdier than Quilton

    • +11

How does this compare with Quilting

I find that wiping my backside with Quilting is so much softer - all that lovely fabric

    • +4

get the sample box. its free, just pay delivery($5 metro). you get 2 standard rolls, 1 premium, 1 kitchen roll and a box of tissues.

      • +1

Got a link to the sample box? I might be just blind but I can't see it on the site.

        • +4

          Here you go.

It's also completely free if you order the 48 roll pack as shipping isn't charged on orders above $30, just remember to cancel your subscription after ordering via the magic link in the email.

Edit: actually, I'm being charged a shipping fee, so it may be certain areas only which can be checked here.

      • Don't forget to cancel your subscription after you order the sample

    • It made my ass bleed, avoid lol.

  • +1

    Price per sheet?

    • +11

      $35.04 ÷ 48 = 73¢ a roll
      400 sheets per roll
      73 ÷ 4 = 18.25¢ per 100 sheets

      • That is actually a lot better than most TP deals posted here.

      • scoped comments just for this haha. cheers!

    • +1

They tend to be more expensive, so if you want cheap loo paper this is not the brand for you. Most people who buy from WGAC aren't buying it for the $$ savings, though.

      • This one is great value. Better than the $18 for 48 pack of 180sheets from Coles last year.

  • +1

I've been using WGAC for toilet paper, tissues and paper towels for a couple of years now. Very good quality, free shipping and delivery is super quick

  • +2

Get with the pace and get one of these https://tinyurl.com/y3cquu39 instead.

    • +5

Save the planet, blast your anus with a pressure washer. That’s living.

      • +1

Yes Donald, make sure you adjust the pressure or you may end up giving yourself a tonsillectomy.

  • Just a tip. Shave your hairy arse and you'll use a lot less paper when you gotta wipe. No having to deal with any resilient gruffnuts

    • +2

or just have a shit then shower routine. or just wet the TP before wiping. or use a bidet.

      • +3

or just wet the TP before wiping.

I don't think that's a good idea, TP is designed to break down when it gets wet

    • +3

Add in the sample box for new customers and get 3 more rolls(1 is premium) plus a kitchen roll and box of tissues for free.
Brings the price per 100 sheets down to:
    $35.04 ÷ 51 = 68.7¢ a roll
    400 sheets per roll
    68.7 ÷ 4 = 17.17¢ per 100 sheets
    plus the other stuff

    • +1

Where can I find the sample box?

    • If you get the bamboo kind + the sample box, calculations are as follows

      $40.88 / 51 = 80.2¢ per roll

      370 sheets per roll

      80.2 / 3.7 = 21.7¢ per 100 sheets

Plus all the other stuff (kitchen roll, box of tissues)

Made in china with cheap labor, dirty electricity and long product miles (bigger footprint)
50% of profits (assume net profits) donated
    Are a certified B Corp

Icare toilet paper is the Australian made alternative and generally cheaper

Should answer most of your concerns.

tl;dr sea freight is super efficient, and "made in China" does not automatically mean people are exploited.

        • I didn't say exploited or make any claims re sea freights lack of efficiency
My comment was to inform the debate and was balanced with the pros and cons
          Why the negs?

        • tl;dr sea freight is super efficient

It is, but it adds to the emission footprint as there is the freight in China to get it to the ship and then the ship.
Plus if it is made of recycled paper there is the freight to get the paper from the exporting country to the port, the shipping and then freight to get the paper to the paper factory.

If it was made in Australia then these emissions would not have occurred.

      • +4

Personally, I'd still prefer supporting Australian workers over China's workers.

        Each to their own.

When it comes to dunny paper Quilton is the easiest choice - it's cheap, it's quality and it's Aussie made and owned.

    • icare isn't really an equivalent product as they don't use 100% post-consumer recycled waste.

      • Says icare is 100% recycled but that’s all I can see
Do you have a link regarding this
Im confused …What’s it made of then ???

        • +2

Recycled waste can generally be split into two categories: pre-consumer and post-consumer.

Post-consumer waste means the stuff that you, as the consumer, chuck in your recycling bin when it's at the end of its life cycle.

Pre-consumer waste can comprise the offcuts of manufacturing (like when manufacturing paper) so you can cut down a virgin rainforest, make paper or woodchips out of it and then the waste products from that process can then be designated as a "recycled" product.

Products with an FSC "Recycled" certification are allowed to comprise a certain percentage of pre-consumer waste (15% according to this article).

Under the ACCC guidelines, when making claims that a product is recycled, manufacturers are supposed to mention if the product has been made with waste that has been "reclaimed from manufacturing", but they never do (page 14 of this document outlines the requirement).

I submitted a report to the ACCC in relation to this about a year ago (including photo evidence from packaging and emails from the manufacturers themselves admitting that they don't use 100% post-consumer waste) but heard nothing back.

    Is this cheaper than Kirkland?

  • I give a crap every day

  • +5
  • Thanks OP ,Ordered had to pay postage for delivery of trial pack to County Vic .Cancelled ongoing delivery via magic link hope it worked.

  • Nothing like flossing your ass with quality TP

  • +2

I have never been so excited to wipe my own arse

  • +3

Only scored 72/100 in the recent choice mag toilet paper review with the quilton double roll being the top scorer with 83/100 but who gives a crap I'll give it a go & if I don't like it I wont buy it again , simples.

  • -2

I know it's not recycled… but you can get 45 rolls of Kleenex Complete Clean for $19 @ Amazon.

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07C3Y2C4V/ref=ppx_yo_d…

    • +1
      1. At 23.5c per 100 sheets, it's quite a bit more. You can regularly get Quilton for cheaper than this at coles/woolies.

      2. It's that price at big W.

      3. It sucks compared to Quilton.

  • +1

Might as well give it a go! Probably the weirdest thing I've ever bought online but hey, if it saves the environment I'm happy :)

  • +1

I'm willing to give this a go, thanks for the deal!

  • -4

Ill stick to my Coles Toilet paper which is almost a 1/3 of the price of this per roll…

No point being sustainable if you cant be price competitive…

    • i believe price is ≤ coles toilet paper when you use the right metric for comparison, price per roll is misleading as different brands have different sheets/roll. cents/100sheets is best. iirc coles tp is 17-19c/100sheets. woolies tp is 19c/100sheets.

  • Im going to wipe my ass with this deal.

  • +1

A bidet everyday keeps the toilet paper at bay.

    • +1

So it squirts and your arse his wet, now what? Pull up the undies and walk around with wet behind?

      • Use a towel to dry off. shower after poop is best way.
The Indians know how to clean, Paper just smears it around leaves residue behind.

        • Indians also shit in the streets so I'm not sure I'd be taking sanitary advice from them…

          • @SJDR: If we had a billion people and a more corrupt government/ poverty I'm sure some of us would be doing it in the streets too.

  • Great paper, great deal.

  • Bum gun for me, a fraction of the paper used to dry after cleansing blast and does anyone else we the irony on this TP claiming to save paper while being wrapped in …..paper?

    • Beats wrapping it in plastic, which doesn't break down nearly as fast in landfill and is petroleum-based. Yes, it's more paper but that in itself is easily recycled, or better yet, feed it to your worms or compost.

    • "does anyone else we the irony"

      No, but I wee & crap! 🤭

  • Thanks OP, order placed!

  • Has anyone had their order sent yet?
Mine is still sitting at order unfulfilled.

    • Yep got mine the other day.

Personally not a fan. Will stick to Costco brand
