I know,.. but someone had to do it!
Really curious to know how fellow OzBargainers are planning to approach this:

Indeed, but how to isolate myself from society for the next 2 months. Oh, wait…
Why would you need to? So what if a spoiler or two are mentioned or X is killed. Doesn't detract from watching it at all.
Umm. Yes it does.
I prefer not to know major twists and plot points in narratives before I view or read them. I'm relatively confident I'm in the majority here.
HotStar. Same as US time
need india sim card for verification =(
Nope. just an email id. VPN to connect to hotstar
asking for me to sign up for premium access and needs +91 number
how do you create an account with just an email? I keep getting stuck at this point:
@blackfrancis75: Please login using facebook. You won't need indian number
@saku0751: Click on Login button and then use facebook as login choice.
@saku0751: all working.
i needed to leave incognito mode as well.
How have I not seen this before
999IR is about $20AU for a year - cheap
Need VPN tp connect I presume
How is the quality?
Any ads or other annoyances?
So I was about to pay Foxtel to get access to the final series, but a few weeks back they emails me to say that since I was a loyal customer they would give me the Drama pack for free for a year. No idea why or how, but pretty poor business model giving away their golden goose. Not going to complain!
Live now
I would say with my eyes, but I don't watch it.
"with my eyes", that's the worst way to watch GoT
Borrowing the parents' Foxtel account. God knows why they bother to keep Foxtel, but i'm happy for them to keep it for another 8 weeks
There is
only is only one
right way to watch
really, and it
entails purchasing it,
not pirating it
through illegal means.
As of just now, 70% of respondents (that intend to watch the show) have indicated 'Torrent'.
As immoral as I consider piracy to be, I consider Foxtel/Rupert Murdoch 10000x more immoral
So it's a simple matter of moral relativism
I put a lot of effort into my comment :(
BTW, I voted torrents.
Being one of the most pirated TV shows ever, it seems almost wrong to not pirate it.
M aybe

S o stupid people get it
@Noblejoker: Lol, I'm glad at least one person noticed.
@Noblejoker: Now I get it!
I spent embarrassingly long breaking down the syllables to see if it was a Haiku
Duh!
Yep. There is no way I'm gonna contribute to Rupert evil lord bank account. It's not gonna matter in the big scheme of things but at least I tried.
Dressed as a shame nun.
Just Finished watching the episode
what happened? >:D
They all died
Haven't watched a single episode yet……
loser
I'll have to wait before watching the premiere but thankfully I'm the kind who doesn't mind spoilers!
Excited to see it though.
With my pants off and kleenex at arms reach.
the place where you Come as guests, stay as family.
I still have this deal going, free Foxtel Now from Telstra 11 months ago. It runs out in a month so I'll be watching the last two episodes some other way.

Kodi
6 episodes of game of thrones can be watched with 3 x 10 day free trials of Foxtel now. All you need is three bank cards and 3 phone numbers
Foxtel Now, using an apple TV. There is no foxtel now app on apple tv, so to be able to watch it I cast (screen mirror) my iphone through my apple tv and run the foxtel now app on my iphone.
If I didn't have this option, I could watch it via telstra tv (that does have a foxtel now app). I guess that is what non apple phone users must do.
I think your survey should differentiate between foxtel and foxtel now.
HBO through Amazon Prime US.
I honestly don't know whats so great about game of thrones….everyone seems to praise it highly…..
Watching the first episode on Foxtel was crap. I had FTTP 100/40 but the stream didn't even go 1080p, was blurry, kept buffering every 5 minutes, absolutely unwatchable.
wow - condolences man, that must have sucked
I torrented the first episode without a VPN. Last I heard, HBO has been trying to get court orders from internet providers like Optus. Without that, I imagine they cannot fine people getting torrents. Anyone see similar or are they finally cracking down on GOT down-loaders?
Generally if you share high-profile torrents (even while incomplete) without blocking the studio's "honeypot" Seeds, the ISP might send you a letter threatening legal action. When you get that letter the first time, thats when you generally invest in a VPN
I torrent it, then re-share it out on a free for all Mega link to all of my friends
I'm like the beer baron for my circle of friends :)
This has been out for a few days now, so we can probably assume that anyone interested has responded by now.
Interestingly (to me), of the 157 respondees about 40% responded 'not at all'. There seems to have been a huge media discussion re this series, and yet that 40% result would suggest that the series is not as widely popular as it could be assumed and was overhyped.
Of those that indicated they were intending to watch the series, about 67% responded 'Torrent'. As the show was locally available to view (via Foxtel paid subscription), that result suggests that geo-blocking just isn't working.
i watch it for bobs and vagene
Dupe: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/450692
I'll probably watch it when all episodes are released. Can't stand the weekly drip feed.
