If you’re going for the 200Gb plans, better value looking at the iPad Pro plans.

$75 month for an iPad Pro 11” with 200gig of data.

    • or $85/m to jump from 64gb to 256gb. only a little more than retail diff so not too bad.

  • this or samsung tab s4 ? will use it mostly for youtube and words

Whatever’s cheaper really both will easily be able to handle it but the pen on the s4 will definitely help with note taking

Also depends if you’re in the apple eco system in which case then the iPad

Why do you need something so highend just for Youtube and Words?

Perhaps grabbing a cheaper Android tablet such as the Mi Pad 4 Plus (Around 450), which comes with LTE on all versions, has insane battery life and getting a sim only plan for 15 a month might be a better alternative?

Or if you already have data on your phone just tether and save the 15 a month.

      • i m after 45$ plan (already have 80G on my plan) . First i need the bigger screen as I will be using a lot:). and i dont like mi or huawai . I m one of the guys that don't trust mi or huawai.

        • Ahhh I see, perhaps the upcoming Tab S5e will slot in similar to the iPad 9.7 at 35 ish a month. Maybe that will be a better fit as it's lighter and similar and still has great battery life.

  • We have to let Apple go.
Otherwise, the iPhone price will be the same as a Corolla in few years time.

Why? I'm by no means an Apple fanboy, but iPads have been better than Android tablets for a long time, mostly down to Google's own fault. There hasn't been a proper tablet UI for Android since Android 4.x, barely any apps have proper tablet versions, then the issue of most Android tablets not even getting a single software update.

It's sad to say but the iPads are the only worthwhile tablet to get if you want a proper tablet and not one with a blown up phone UI. Most people would rather something that just works properly, has proper tablet apps, and iPad fits that bill.

Besides, in terms of price, most high end Android tablets cost just as much if not more than iPads. Look at the Galaxy Tab S range from Samsung…

      • It’s exactly as they said, I am an Apple user but the prices are getting stupid for a new device.

Agree that iPad is still the best.
However, the price is getting ridiculous and the Android competitors are following Apple in price increasing.

        • I would agree on the phones, but this tablet is pretty good bang for buck. If you look at the usage hours many people have on their tablets you get pretty good value for money.

  • I'm currently using S4. great device. Only use for office work and watching videos.
S4 has Dex which converts S4 into doggy version of windows. office apps works great but there are few issue with other apps.

I purchased Samsung keyboard case and it feel great. pen work great and work well with onenote.

I purchases S4 becuase i could install any applications and the price was cheaper last year.

Is that 200Gb per month or total 200Gb for 24 months?

    • 200GB per month

    • Lol, people nowadays.. It's a question, no need to fire away with the negs..

Not a bad deal, if you take the education store prices of the iPad Air 64 Cellular into account (949), then you are basically paying 130 over two years for 10GB of Data here. And if you take the regular Apple prices (979), then you are paying 101 for 10GB of Data over two years.

    Decent deal.

  • Looking at the price it says $25 plan + $20 tablet repayments per month.
    Making total tablet payments $480.

Down in the early cancellation section:
"Cancelling your plan is easy. Just pay out the full remaining cost of your tablet, including any amount Optus was going to cover."

Does this mean you could cancel early and pay out the termination cost only? How do you define, the amount "Optus was going to cover"?

My reading of this is the difference between RRP and what you have, nominally, already paid for the device under the contract. What Optus covers is the RRP - $480. Therefore what you would need to pay is RRP - X*20 where X = the number of months you have already held the contract. Happy for someone to correct me.

    • Don't know where you find it up front but it use to be on the bill.

I have a 5th Gen iPad with Optus on a 24 month plan fo $40.

      $35 Plan
      $5 iPad

      $25.45 Device credit.

So if 23 months remaining payout figure is $1505.35 not $920.
