Had an awful assistance and claiming experience with this crowd. The made a stressful experience x10 worse. Would never use any insurance underwritten by Tokio Marine again and would never use a travel insurance company that uses the US based assistance company On Call.
I had excellent emergency assistance when I injured myself and needed a new flight booked home from the States. They organised business class for me, I was able to get my own flight refunded. They did this within the span of 48hrs.
After the fact, it was a PITA chasing up all my other injury-related expenses with them and took a month to sort and endless emails. But that initial assistance was fantastic. And I only paid $90…

If you purchased your policy after on 23rd September 2017 we would expect this was done with knowledge of the current volcanic event and therefore there would be no coverage for any claim which was a result of this event.
Is this only for flight disruptions resulting from volcanic activity or a wider no coverage statment?

I had no problems getting them to pay out on a $1600 camera repair after it was damaged. Only 1 data point, but it was a good experience then.

Still works I tested it today 19th 2020. I have tried them before, apart from being super slow in processing claims, never had any issues with them. After trying Tik Travel insurance, I found them a bit expensive despite of 25% code for my Singapore trip. Thanks
