Anyone noticed the Four'n twenty pies are of way higher quality at a actual AFL game?
Wonder where you can buy the good 1's outside a AFL game.

The cold bits of frozen 'meat' inside give them an element of surprise :D
It was real mince no mystery meat or gristle. It had a different pack wrap to a supermarket one. This was at the suns game today on the Goldy.
Are you sure they were not the angus versions that you can buy at supermarkets
Yeah maybe you are right. I thought the Angus ones were just the chunky ones tho?
That last goal tho. I was at the game too ;)
I used to work the Four N Twenty carts and occasionally the food stores at Etihad, they are (at least were in 2011) the same as the regular ones.
Did you chant " I don't know what you've been told, my pies are hot my drinks are cold" up and down the aisles?
"Who ate all the pies? OP! OP! YOU FAT BASTARD!"
Was it the placebo effect of paying more?
I think you mean confirmation bias which is something which no one can say they're experiencing or not like the placebo effect.
It is probably something really obvious like cooked in a steam oven instead of regular oven.
Who knows…
I have definitely noticed some small differences, not too noticeable since I don't eat too many meat pies; maybe once or twice a month, at events or when I am in a remote area and takeout is not an option.
I can confirm, at least at the G, they’re cooked in a big industrial over.
Possibly a difference between time/temp cooked at. Or the addition of being kept in a warmer for an indefinite amount of time.
at a actual
OzBozo pls.
No. You are just more drunk.
That explains everything.
When I drink some, crap food tastes better.
When I drink (a lot) more, the crapper also doesn't smell as bad.
Might be the way its cooked?
I think it also might be the "atmosphere". Certainly when we went to the footy, when I was a kid, the food seemed to taste better than the same thing at home. Maybe because you are cold and hyped up.
Person walking around selling Pies & drinks: 'Cold Pies, Hot Drinks'! 😂
I reckon it's down to the cooking. They do it better than the servo it seems. Some people don't cook it enough. At home I microwave them for 2 mins (to the Horror of my Mrs) and then throw them in the oven at Full Power for 20 mins or so to get them extra flaky.
Aldi pies 8 mins from frozen on Micro/Conv 220°
Excellent meat pies in the Members bar at the Randwick Racecourse too.
Funny you put 4 n 20 & quality in the same sentence! All 'Patties' stuff is garbage, same filling as Party Pies etc!
I'll bite. How are the ones at 'da fuddi' better?
