Saw this on a billboard then on the Dreamworld website. They have buy 3 get 1 free on all day tickets and annual passes. Doesn’t include experiences and shows etc.

Because apparently visitor feedback suggested there be more shaded seating. Yes, but not at the expense of iconic rides! Or rides in general. If you're going to demolish a popular ride, at least replace it with a new one. Not bloody chairs. Its a theme park. I love Dreamworld, but it's being managed into the ground.
Do I take this to mean that they've replaced the River Rapids ride with shaded seating?
Not sure what else they could have done with that part of the park to be honest, after the terrible events that happened there. Hopefully they've at least put a memorial up for the victims.

@aja12: I dare say the repair bill would of been insane or it didn't meet current standards. Was always stopping and starting when I was there.
@kronicmacstigator: The financial viability of the ride due to increased maintenance costs which are inevitable with ageing isn’t is what I’m questioning. The point is that they are demolishing another ride, and replacing it with…seats. Meanwhile, Movie World across the road continues to invest in new rides and attractions, as does Sea World 20 minutes away.
Up until this year, I’d held annual passes to Dreamworld since moving to Queensland. With an 8 and a 5 year old, it’s fair to say that I’ve been to Dreamworld more times than I can count over the last 5 years and I’ve watched it go down hill, a run which began long before the tragic accident in 2016. In fact, that accident was the direct result of the disgraceful management of the park.
@aja12: I dare say they've blown the new ride budget on the latest attraction on Sky Voyager. Give it a year or two and they'll probably replace the seats.
There was no way they could of reopened the river rapids
These parks need more shade. Movie World has a huge shade structure cover most of the town area part
I went to Dreamworld in January and it seemed like almost everything was closed.
Used the $79 “renewal” tickets.
I'd rather my family and I stay alive. I'd never go back to that place ever again.
