Pretty sure it is. Heaps of people buy this gear for cosplay, camping, hiking and outdoors sports, hunting. Not to mention the large military, police and security market. Hell, you even get crossfit people buying 5.11 plate carriers.
I use some 5.11 shorts when hiking, its holding up better then a lot of other brands ive used.
I use 5.11 traverse pants for kayaking/fishing, they have been way better than offerings from Columbia, Kathmandu, etc.
Durable and comfortable. good for being in and out of the water all day.Is 5.11 a fancy way of saying cargo pants?
@seedyrom: I was skeptical about "tactical" pants as well but after buying the 5.11 Stryke pants I can say that they offer far superior range of motion and flex compared to regular (i.e. fashion) cargo pants. They're great for hiking or any kind of outdoor physical activity/sports where you find yourself kneeling, crouching, climbing etc.
Funny, just the other day that I was thinking my shorts just weren't tactical enough… and then along comes the solution.
Essential item to pair with your tactical chinos and tactical polo shirt. Just in case North Korean forces land right in the middle of your L2 helpdesk call centre.
