*Updated* Hello Fresh Lost/Stolen/Not Delivered

They refunded my paypal but I have received no correspondence.


I received a 40% off voucher for first order with hello fresh, decided to try it out. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday and their website says it was, however i never received a call on my intercom and myself and my partner were home most of the day. The option on their website is if no one is home to leave it at the front door, i have seen boxes left at my secure door of my complex before so chose this option.

My question is, if it has been stolen from there, where do i stand? I paid through paypal and removed them from the authorized payee list on my account after the first payment to make sure things went smoothly, but i guess im out of pocket 40 bucks?

  • Did you receive a text with tracking information? Normally within that the driver is required to take a photo of where they left it which also indicates time it was left.

    I just moved interstate and on my first delivery it was delivered to the wrong address, substantiated by the very photo taken by the driver.

    Once you have that information you'll be in a more informed state to contact them and report the issue

    • No i didn't receive a text or email saying any of that, the only delivery status update is when i log in to my account and it says it was delivered.

      • Did you supply your correct contact number or just a generic one, that may be why no text was received.

        Contact them and say you haven't received it, if they tell you it was delivered ask for the time and delivery photo to support their claims.

        If they haven't taken one it will further support your claim, they normally do follow up on when at fault

        • I used all real details, i intended to continue the subscription if i was happy with it. Will follow up with them.

  • Also ask them why you weren't sent the text with tracking number as friends had told you that was the norm. At least it has been for me both on the Gold Coast and in Canberra

  • We had one go missing from our apartment on first delivery. Photo shows it was delivered (presumably stolen after this).

    Hello Fresh were very happy to refund after a quick call.

    • Thanks, both my partner and i work shift work so being home for every delivery is going to prove difficult. Maybe if the box needs to be left outside, i won't be able to continue with the subscription.

    You say you've seen boxes left before for other residents in your complex. Maybe they took it by mistake.

    • Yeah this is also possible. But once taking it inside you'd think they looked at the name on it.

        Not necessarily.

        I had 2 boxes of wine delivered to my place. It was supposed to be a mixed 18 plus 6 wine glasses. The next day another box was delivered which had another 6 glasses and 6 wines. Looked at original 2 boxes and one was for a business 200m away. Rang the wine place, they looked at how much wine I buy and told me to keep it rather than we all faff about with exchanges.

        Short answer: I never look at the addressee on the package

  • It is not clear if OP has raised the matter with Hello Fresh, and if so what the response was. Wouldn't that be the logical first thing to do?

      I have, my question was more related to if you agree to a condition of 'leaving at the front door' and it gets stolen, is it your loss?

      • Ok, maybe let us know what the Hello Fresh response was.

        In relation to the generic question, I would probably accept that the delivery has been finalised when left at the designated place. After that, I wouldn't hold the seller or delivery agent responsible.

  • Strange you didn't get a text, because it actually gives you a tracking link. It shows how many more delivered before yours and an updated ETA once every deliver is made. As mentioned above it always shows you a photo of the box dropped off your house.

    • Oh ok, well I didn't even get an email notification that it had been delivered. It only says so when I log in online.
