  How could this be Windows-only? It's apparently a Steam key and on Steam it says it supports Windows, Mac and Linux?

  Not sure if I can buy this since I'm on Linux and confused :| is it a different type of key for different operating systems?

    You are right. If it says Win/Mac/Linux on the Steam store page then that's what you should always go by instead of what GMG (or anyone else) says.

    The only exception is Call of Duty: Black Ops which has a separate release for Mac.
