½ Price Evans Waterless Coolant and Flushes 3.77L Prep $22.49, Coolant $42.99 @ Supercheap Auto

OK, a very niche product. I'm gonna be slopping it into my dirtbike. If you know what this is, you'll know it's a good price for a quality product.

Why's that? I personally don't use waterless coolant, but I do know some people who use it for racing, and it does have many benefits - lower corrosion, much higher boiling point, lower vapor pressure and it doesn't expand when frozen.

        1. If you need Evans to stop over boiling coolant then I'd suggest (just quietly) that your cooling system isn't up to the job.
        2. Allowing the over temp is going to put a lot heat into the head, block etc, for a "race" motor these are way more expensive to fix than getting the cooling system right
        3. If racing on a circuit, you'll find that Evans is banned at most tracks due to being almost 100% glycol so it won't evaporate, unlike straight water or 50/50. So if someone spills it that fun over for the day until it's cleaned up
        4. In terms of heat transfer water is ALWAYS going to be better than Evans
        • 1 & 2. I never suggested that it be used as a band-aid if your engine is overheating.
          3. Anywhere where Evans is banned, regular 50/50 is banned too - it's the glycol that's banned, which is in most coolants.
          4. In terms of heat transfer, water is better than any commercial coolant - but we still use additives to boost the boiling point, reduce cavitation, and inhibit corrosion. Evans just does this even more.

It's not for everyone (I don't use it), but it's still a great, stable, very corrosion resistant coolant and antifreeze.

          • @Spam Service: The main selling point that Evans goes on about is the higher boiling point. Again if you need that then you have other problems. Other than it offers nothing more than regular antifreeze.

  • Wait. If your engine is so hot that regular coolant or water isn't sufficient, you should prob just fix the cause of the excess heat…right?

    • Yeah, but sometimes, in certain situations you can't do that. I'd never run this in my van, but it's great in stressed engine applications. My dirt bike boils it's coolant on idle, and on technically challenging long slow climbs. I could wait 10mins in the middle, I could run some fans, I choose you pika.. Evans. ;)
