Buying A2 Infant Formula (to Use for My Own Child)

Hi All,

I'm looking for recommendations on where to buy the A2 Infant formula (Stage 1) without having to pay postage charges. Chemist warehouse is instore only, Big W provide a c&c but currently there is no stock in stores close to me or my work. Most other websites charge postage.

I will not be on-selling to China! I just want to buy 1 tin at a time. Does anyone have suggestions or do I just suck it up and pay the postage charges.
Thanks.

Call your local Chemist Warehouses and ask if they have stock and if so ask the manager to set aside 1 or 2 tins for you.

    • Thanks, I did a drive around on the weekend to a number of local stores and they were all out of stock. Phone calls would've been easier than driving for sure.

    Speak to your local stores.
If they can't put aside for you ask them what day/time they restock.
line up with all the resellers and get your tins.

This is why I love A2M share 🤤🤤🤤

  • Did you try speaking to the manager at coles/woolies? they may have some stashed away for genuine buyers.

I can't find it at woolies but there's plenty at coles. unfortunately, bub's tummy can't handle A2 so I had to switch to bellamys

Too unstable supply, all the places that sell it are frequently out.

Does your child need A2? is baby lactose intolerant? If not dont bother, babies like to stick to certain formulas and dont like change that much depending on child. Dont want to driving around only looking for A2 with a starving baby only to see some idiots buying them by the trolley full (which I've seen) just in front of you.

My kid got constipated on A2 (ended up in Hospital) really easily and didn't like the taste. She liked the Aldi formula (Made in New Zealand better), 1/3 of the cost of A2, she had that all the way to cows milk.

    • I've gently raised the alternative formula option and hasn't gone down too well so far. We just use the formula for top up feeds, 1 tin easily lasts us the month. Hopefully my kid will reject it and we can switch to a brand that's available. Will go and have a look at the Aldi brand, thanks.

Pediatrician for us said to use normal formula. If you use lactose free milk then there is a possibility of lactose intolerance developing due to lack of exposure. Run the question past your Pediatrician in front your partner. Just because its expensive doesn't mean better.

Also 1 month is close to the expiry date of a tin of formula. Write the date of opening on the tin.

        • Thanks! Will raise it with the Pediatrician. And yep we do write the expiry date on the tin because we don't always use the whole tin. End up throwing it out which is a waste of money.

@Mrcbro: Lot of BS on mum forums and generational "wives tales". Hence this A2 bandwagon, anti vaxing etc…

Run all questions no matter how dumb past the Pediatrician. Some of these wives tales can be actually harmful. So question all these assumptions by asking a qualified professional or three.
