Is this pest control sound right to you?

I did pest control last Tuesday and paid $300 for a 2 storey 5 bedroom house on 600sqm land. Tell me your thoughts after reading as I am actually quite annoyed.

  1. One guy came and spent 50 mins to do the bakcyard and he sprayed pretty much everywhere.

  2. He then came inside and put some drops in kitchen cabinet hinges - he said he can’t spray inside, but if any bugs around and they consume the drop, they will take back to their next and get killed.

  3. He then said I’m going to dust the skirtings and edges of roof inside your house including the man hole and it should take me 10-15 mins. I was working from home so didn’t really follow him around. We used the same company last year and it was good. However my mum was at my place at the time and she said she didn’t see him spray much at all.

  4. He came into my office room and gave me the invoice, he didn’t spray my office at all btw and I had to remind him to do the garage. I questioned him and he said he done it all, so I paid it as he said anything give the company a call because we have 6 month warranty.

  5. The next day I called their company as I had a think about it and feel it’s not right. How can you spray the whole house in 15 mins and I mean when you spray, it should leave some mark on the floor when it dries up, but I saw bringing. The boss called back and said he believe the guy did the right thing and maybe it’s just a mis communication. He said their products won’t leave any marks on the floor once dried up. Again he said if any issues within 6 months give them a call.

So on Saturday morning, we woke up and saw heaps of ants on a tin of baby formula inside the kitchen!! We never have mat problems in the kitchen before! I thought it’s weekend maybe just leave it till Monday. However the same night I saw heaps of them inside the pantry as well! I don’t understand why they suddenly alll came out after pest control, was it because the chemical upsetted them?

So I texted the boss and said I want it sorted ASAP that night. No answer. No phone call on monday, so I called him this afternoon. He heard it was me and said before you go on, I’m at a job now and can’t really talk. Can you call the office and arrange a time with the admin? So I did, he phone went to voice mail and no one called back! I’m beyond frustrated, do you think the whole 15 mins inside is enough sound right? How can I protect myself on this? It’s not cheap and it’s far from being great service. Fair trading??

    Use a different company next time. Tell your neighbours and friends to avoid them.

    Sounds like he used something like AntRid in your kitchen cabinet hinges.
    Which attracts ants as it contains sugar in it.

    I'm assuming you call Pest Control because of an insect problem?

    Sounds like the company I used once. Barely sprayed my house, refused to spray our fencing when every other company has. Did a piss poor job and left. I wrote them an honest Google review and within in hours, they emailed to threaten "legal action" if I did not remove my review. Great company, that one *rolls eyes

      So did they come out and spray again? And did you remove your comment? I’m thinking about writing a comment on their fb and google too!!

        I called the head office and they wouldn't even own up to it. You can't threaten someone with legal action over an honest and factual review, so no, I did not remove it and felt like other people should be made aware of a shit company.

        I just considered it a loss and moved on. If they were being such d*cks about it and lacked any sort of customer service, no point arguing because they were not going to do anything to fix it.

    If you keep getting ants woolworths sell a tube (tallon brand i think) of ant gel for $7 apply half first week where their tracks are the second half the next week and in 3-4 weeks you will have no ants.

    Buy the seringe looking one, it sticks anywhere as its gel. Antrid needs flat surfaces.

        Find the nest, pour deisel down it then put wiod and a brick over it. Or try the gel, nsver used it for them but if they eat it it should work…

          How to locate bull ant hives? I've had no luck. I see a few dozen scattered around but they don't form lines.

      @seedy seed i got the seringe…. more ants came out and they sucking on the gel like crazy, is that normal? does it have to get worse before it gets better? I got goosebumps when I see that many ants….

        Thats how it works, its a poisen that attracts them. They eat it and take it back to the nest, which over 2-4 weeks wipes it out.

        Put half out now half next week.

        Btw. Every ant you can see now is just one that was hidden in your house before.

          thanks. All ants are gone this morning, haha. Do I still need to put the other half out then? I was thinking about leaving all stuff inside pantry on the bench for another day but now thinking maybe I can start putting them back.
