I have a question about the ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures CC free flight. It says that only the cardholder can use the flight. With online check in does anyone know if there are any checks made?

That's not really a question specific to the card - its a question for flying on Virgin.
I've sometimes had ID checked at the counter (if I had a check in bag)

In order to redeem the free flight I need to call ANZ Rewards and it also needs to be at least 90 days prior, correct?
Why can't I just book it online :/60 days prior, but yes you need to call them.
If you search online for normal reward flight availability on your desired route, it should give you some idea of the likely availability you will be given when you call.
So can you book a flight for your wife etc?
Not for the free flight. In the T&Cs it says:
Flights must be booked in the name of the person who holds the Eligible Account.
You can however book additional cash tickets to go with it.
Bum, just used my AMEX credit for my own flight and was going to get this so the other half can use it. Also, looks like 40k is the best sign on bonus at the moment? 80k has goooone
Can other half take out the card in their own name? Minimum income requirement is only $35k.
@djkelly69: Saw there is an option for a companion card. Hopefully that can be used for a partners flight. either way I just bit the bullet and signed up.40k is better than nothing
When you hand over your boarding pass to be scanned at the boarding gate, you'd at least want the sex to match the name.
