Forest Focus Mindful Genre App

Hello :)

App heartily endorsed by a twenty-something of some acquaintance.
Tree meets Tamagotchi, sort of…

Review from that page.

Focus app for those maybe struggling with that aspect of modern life.
Not meditation as such, unless planning on doing that whilst 30 minutes elapses in growing forest.

Paid-only app, on iOS. Free with in-app beeswax if up for that, on Android.

Like Meritline Toothpaste Rollers, and Sanyo-branded Eneloop Deals, as opposed to Panasonic ones, this may be old news (links indicate app around for quite a while), but may nonetheless be useful to some unfamiliar with it.

Bubblebaths also relaxing, or so I gather - https://youtu.be/Sort2m3H3dc

Some keen evidence of OzBargain being variously the wrong crowd for musical links of just about any description, but what the hey…
Enjoy, for those who do.

    G’day Dne,

Can see this tree app being useful for some to unplug for short periods (like hours). Doubt you are in need of it – going by your remarkable ability to unplug from OzB for quite long stretches (days/weeks) :-)

A little bemused by the poll of relaxing options though – probably more suited to the younger, energetic and spirited folks. Some options appear hardly relaxing to someone like me.

Take Bubblebath, for instance. And Techno too. Will have to substitute with something like Nightingale Serenade – before it can be considered relaxing. Options like stargazing, people-watching etc could also be good additions :-)

Bargains are not relaxing. More like hard-work, got to get in before ozbargained. And then, more hard work - collect the item, monitor delivery etc.

I guess of all options, Trees is probably the most relaxing. But maybe not. What if waiting for the tree to grow is like waiting for water to boil? Hardly relaxing! :-) All down to the individual, I suppose.

But you have a relaxing weekend, Dne - whichever option, on or off the poll, that you choose :-)

      G'day there,

Poll options as well-conceived as the questions in OzBargain's 'Random Discussions' thread, I've just realised.
I would have added 'Bamboo' to poll, if I had known that to limit one stressor for you, bluesky. Possible to actually see bamboo grow, as you would know.

If you regard much of the human-centred world as running on a set of poorly-configured algorithms, not really that difficult to disconnect from at least some of them. Smartphones included.
That said, Nightingale somewhere in this instagram account, would be reasonable assumption? Plenty of pretty to behold, certainly. Birdsong does maybe benefit from slightly less André. You will forgive me for saying that, bluesky:)

Apart from apparently André, I know that you enjoy Jazz.
A few jazzy-enough tracks maybe up your alley, from old albums listened to during the week -

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QGNdNsBt9s

Also listened to some Aphex Twin, beyond above. If can pare down to half a dozen or so tracks, will add to this thread. Stumble-upon find for someone down the ozbargainy track, maybe.

Have a good Sunday and week, and Easter, bluesky!
Don't let any of those pesky slow-growing trees (or the opening of that second track), stress you out!

      :)

      Bonus Lost-hour-of-daylight-saving, stress-relief otters for you -

The bird Instagram account has some magnificent technicolour creatures. What wonders!

Thanks. Quite enjoy the jazzy tracks. Only opening bit of 2nd track startled me a bit, the rest of the track is quite nice.

Otters are very relaxing and absolutely adorable to watch :-)

Wow, so fast and Easter soon upon us … where has the time gone? A good Easter break to you too! :-)

A track to round off those three above.

Yes, year progressing quickly with Easter nearly here again. I reckon that I can guess maybe at least part of what yours may involve…
I think that I vaguely recognise the titles of maybe a quarter a fifth of those series.. You love your drama, bluesky :)

In lead-up to Easter, don't let the loss of Daylight Saving act as dampener on your pre-theatre-show-social-butterfly, activities…
…Various lobby groups of specific bent keep trying to get DS up, here. Not going to happen. To reduce various inconvenience (for us!) Southerners do need to follow course of the Sensible Europeans, in case you missed news on that ;)

P.S. Job for you… Beyond arguing case against Daylight Saving with Daniel Andrews -
kindly, go and counsel JJB against his inclination to do an AMA.
In lieu of being able to dangle a cat toy in front of him, link this for him. Might distract him and anything's worth a try at this point. Music alone that may work. I'll let you be the judge of that.
(Might leave thread here, bluesky. Also seems sensible. Take care :)

          • @[Deactivated]: Good track, Dne, enjoyed that.

Does not bother me one bit if they get rid of daylight savings. But fine with current DS also. Reckon one can adjust easily. There are certainly some merits to getting rid of it - as explained in the article.

I would not dissuade JJB from an AMA. Interesting stuff happens to JJB and Wiki - they have adorable children with Star War nicknames IIRC :-). As far back as when Wiki was around, if I stumbled on their posts, I read and found them interesting. They certainly lead more interesting lives than the average person. So no, won't dissuade JJB from an AMA :-)

Hey, you have a good evening :-)

@bluesky: Hi there. I'm currently typing a comment about Julian Assange, of all people.
I wasn't actually trying to twist your arm about JJB, but I will remonstrating with him in a few minutes, about something else…

You have saved me separate to this, bluesky -
Snowee doing her impression of a Kookaburra, in case you missed it in your feed. Follows on from that message of yours.

If whatshisface posts an AMA, ask him lots of mischievous questions on my behalf.

              Happy Easter, bluesky.

              :-)

Snowee doing her impression of a Kookaburra

Very impressed … how cheeky to emulate another bird, and looked so smug too! :-)

I used to hear birds in the wild that mimicked mobile ringtones. I doubt these were their natural sounds, so they must have heard mobile phones ringing and imitated them.

Happy Easter to you too, Dne :-)

Very interesting artist. Some I like more than others.

Like the 1st (gradual layering of sounds). Last one caught my eye, pretty refreshing. I did a few back and forth comparing the original and the recreation. It does really grow on you. Thanks, Dne :-)
