2008-2010 Kia Sportage Vs Toyota Rav 4. First Car Tips

These two cars keep falling into my price range but im unable to decide on which one to choose. i lean towards the toyota as i like the design more + it seems to edge the kia in online ratings but im not fussed at all and will pull the trigger on the kia if its a better deal.

lets say the odomoter, condition, service history were the same edit but the rav4 was a little more expensive. which of the two would you choose and why?

    The Kia is cheaper.

The price is never the same when comparing a Kia and a Toyota of the same year, mileage and service history.

        • yeah thats my mistake if everything was the same the rav 4 would be more expensive

      • It is a simple choice if everything including price is the same.

Hard to believe a kia and toyota would command the same price. I would definitely get the toyota for something that old.

    • youre right. the rav4 would probably be a couple grand more expensive. thanks for your comment.

      200 killer wasps!!!!
      .

    • Goodbye petrol

  • I'm a big Kia fan but only with the later models. A car reaching a decade old, you'd be better serviced going with the Toyota.

  • Toyota has a better pedigree and will probably hold its value better.

1st car, the cheapest. You will smash it anyway. Don't be stingy on insurance.

I enjoy saying "sportage" in a posh accent.

    • "spor-tij" or "spor-tarjjjj"?

  • You would be crazy not yo go the rav 4 from that year range. Kia didn't start becoming reliable until 2011/2012. Prior to that, their engines are shit.

    • the sportage im looking at has half the kms (<100k) and is $2-3k cheaper than any decent rav 4 ive seen. its really tough.

Doesnt matter what anyone says here because its not them that will be buying and driving the car.
