I bought it from Officeworks a couple of weeks ago and it is an E3372H. I have used an Aldi sim in it without problem.
Does this need to be plugged into a computer to work or can I just plug into a USB charger. Does it just beam out the wifi as soon and you plug it in. And have a web admin page

you'll need to set it up on a PC first. It redirects to an internal web page to set up. I plug mine into my ADSL modem to get connectivity when my NBN frequently fails. As long as whatever device it is has support for this modem type you should be good to go.
How do you use the 4Gb data? My activation options show plans of 15gb etc
