Hey all 1st time caller long time listener.
As title suggests Omo 2KG is BOGOF. At Caltex Starmart. Most sites participating (some may be owned by franchisees and have opted out)
Also at Select Caltex Starmarts in very limited quantity
Buy 1 OWO 2kg get 1 OWO 2kg free.
*OWO is produced in the same facility that makes OMO and both rate exactly the same as each other in cleaning power.
Maybe it is to be read "Oh Wow!" at the unbelievable price…
Upsidedown box is actually around the right way.. Mind BLOWON!
Is this some dodgy parallel import version of OMO - a bit like how Reject Shop imports that dodgy version of Morning Fresh?
I can't confirm. But I m pretty sure this is all above board. It certainly tastes* like the real deal.
*please do not taste test the OMO.
Please try this at home kids!
the news has been kinda boring lately.
It's the Chinese knock off.
I can't believe it's not Omo?
It looks pretty legit and Caltex is pretty legit however there have definitely been instances of servos selling imported and possibly fake OMO.
ONO its not OMO
i wonder why a franchisee would öpt out"
is this a loss leader?
It was a promotion mid last year and since they are required to buy a minimum amount of stock to meet the display requirements, chances are it would be a loss due to the purchase price (i can check in the system tomorrow). That or it actually sells decently in store and they would want to continue selling at a decent mark up.
Is this on sale nationwide?
AFAIK yes. Some stores have more stock than others.
Does OMO stack with OWO?
e.g. 1 x OWO and 1 x OMO
Only if you ask the operator on duty really nicely. Chances are they'll honour the deal even with the two different types.
thanks, just picked up 8 boxes
Is it okay to use on coloured clothing?
yes
thanks, I just got 10 boxes from my local caltex

About 8 months old comparison of washing detergents from choice
I see people saying they picked up 8-10 boxes. As a guy i have no idea if this is a great price or not. I looked at Woolies and if you buy a 5 kg box it comes out to $6/kg but that is an everyday price. Should i stock up on this or do the supermarkets get down to $3/kg when on special?
Also, seems they have a new formulation with a strong detergent odor after washing and way too many suds, anyone able to elaborate with their own experience?
The cheapest I usually find Omo is when Costco has 2x5kg on sale for $40 ($4 a kilo)
I only use half of the scoop and don't have a problem with too many suds and I can't say I really notice the smell, maybe I am used to it after using this for so many years.
Good news for OzBargainers. Just use less detergent per wash.
Three words…Aldi Trimat Advanced
In b4 the triggered OCD people commenting on those 2 boxes being upside down ;)
