JB matched a cheap, online price for me so I was happy.
What's with people thinking cash gets a better price than anything else? They still have to pay to get someone to collect it.
Anyway, the trick these days is not to try and get money off, prices are insanely competitive from the top down, If you need the money off then you probably shouldnt be buying it anyway. The trick is, is to get stuff/product thrown in. warranties/bluray players/DVDs etc.
Warranties can be good, if you pay very, very little for them or nothing at all. There is a huge margin in warranty sales, which is why they push them as hard as they do. Applying your same logic, there's probably not much margin in a $99 Blu-Ray player either.
Cash used to get a better price before merchants could get sub 1% cost on credit card transactions. In fact, it might cost companies using security guard services almost as much to get their cash collected. Not sure about that, but it's a possibility.
Good Guys "pay less, pay cash" is just a marketing gimmick.
Yes better off going during a non sale time, as more likely to get a bigger discount when less people are buying.
We got a TV During this 10% off deal but they wont budge on the price, even with cash. So it pretty much the same prices you would normally get but you don't have to ask for it.
