Hunters, am happy to drive around.. just dont wanna get ripped off..it seems lot of inspection for 60000Km service and just change of oil and filter..been getting quotes of around $200 for $30 max partsYou also pay for the labour too. I believe some Yaris models fall under toyota service advantage which is a capped price service scheme. Maybe you should check it out and see if you are eligable.
$200 for a service doesn't sound too bad. How much have Toyota quoted?
I found that dealer servicing is nowhere near as bad as it used to be.
I thought the cost to service my prado was too expensive so I took it to another mechanic (a pretty well known company). Well I regret it to this day. The parts they used were crap. If you love your car, take it to toyata. The only time I would take it to another mechanic is if the car is old. In my experience, take it to toyata - it will save you more in the long run.
$200 isn't that bad . Ring a couple of local Toyota service centers , They rarely charge the same .
Your kind of screwed if your car is still under warranty . The cheap generic franchise workshops can be very hit and miss , not that there aren't bad stealerships around either .
Yaris, Toyota expensive?? Geez wait till get real European car. Use http://www.fixedpricecarservice.com.au/. Bookmark it and don't get ripped on quotes especially useful for the missus.
