Has anyone experienced the complimentary transit hotel offered by Hainan Airlines for a stopover in Haikou?
Just wanting to judge whether it's worth booking our own hotel.
I've searched everywhere but can't seem to find where they will be putting us up. Hainan Airlines also refuses to provide the name of the hotel and said it will be organised in the transit area in Haikou?

They have provided me a 3 star hotel when i transit at Xianyang. It was okay, not new but it has got everything you need. Won't be in the city, somewhere close to the airport and therefore rural areas.
They won't tell you the name of the hotel because they have a few partnership options, and it depends on that day. If i were you, i would be fine with the accommodation they provide. The airline also drops you off for your next connecting flight, so you if you have arranged your own accommodation, you have to get back to the airport with own transport.

Do you have to share the room with other passengers?
I used Hainan Airline but stop over was in Changsa, yes i had to share with another person, but you have the option of your own room if you pay extra. I think they have a few associated hotels, thats why they wont tell me in advance which one they are going to put you in.
