looking for good surveillance cameras. I noticed there aren't many hikvision cameras on AliExpress or eBay.
I looked up dahua and find this

I wouldnt buy it.
It would have firmware that is chinese and not upgradeable.
Also have seen issues where these cameras have not been compatable with Australian recorders.
Updating the FW won't be necessary unless there is a security flaw or bug with the one that is shipped.
Yeah it’s really no big deal as long as you actually know you can’t update the firmware (pulls at collar).
I was able to fix mine.
Hikvision have really clamped down in AliExpress - or more particularly people selling Chinese market devices to the international audience. (Which is basically all you get on AliExpress)
And that is what this device appears to be - a chinese market Dahua 6MP turret camera that most probably has been flashed with an international firmware. This is why they say multiple times that you can't upgrade this camera - as it most likely won't take the standard international firmware, and may brick if you try (a regular occurrence with the Hikvision range)
I don't have a lot of experience with Dahua, but assuming it's a genuine camera, it's looks a good deal. I purchased two similar Australian market Hikvisions (6MP turrets) from eBay which cost ~$170 each.
