Mitsubishi MRWX743C French Door Fridge - $3,350 @ Appliances Online

100

This is a good deal for this fridge. RRP is either $4,199 for the silver or $3,999 (at Bing Lee) for the white.
When I checked it included delivery and removal of old fridge for metro Sydney - not sure about postage for other locations.

Here’s the link for silver colour https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/mitsubishi-mr-wx743c-s-a…

I got Harvey Norman to price match and bought off them cause I can get discounted vouchers for Harvey’s.

Happy fridge shopping!!

It's about $600 cheaper than anywhere else.

Do you also neg deals for nicer cars because you can get a second hand Commodore for cheaper? It's a very good fridge at a very good price. Biggest negative (in my opinion) is that there isn't much freezer space.

      • Come on pal, this isn't a Sub Zero, it's a run of the mill mass production Fridge. It keeps your food cold. I don't see the point in paying a significant premium for the perception that a Mitsubishi fridge is more reliable than say an LG.

        • So you don't actually know the difference between this and an LG? A $200 second hand cheapie off Gumtree also keeps your food cold.

FYI, Mitsus are well known to be more reliable than your run of the mill LG/Samsung/F&P/etc. They also have extremely good insulation so that their walls are thinner than normal fridges, yet insulate more than normal fridges so that they have a smaller external physical volume yet their internal volume is large, while they also are very power efficient. This model in particular focuses on modularity (which is why it has so many different compartments), including a compartment that can temporarily have an extremely low temperature, which helps to freeze your food faster.

I looked at this fridge a while ago and I decided against due to lack of freezer space since my wife wanted maximum freezer space.

Also, Sub Zeros are about 15k upwards so your comparison to a Sub Zero is completely irrelevant.

@PCHammond: That's the point. Sub Zeros are in another category. This Mitsubishi isn't. But Harvey Norman would like you to believe it is.

            • @[Deactivated]: You're the one who brought up Sub Zeros, which are literally 5x the price. I don't see any mentions of Hardly Normal making it out as if it is.

        • Puhleeeaase sub zero is a whole different price range all together - unless you are going to pay $10k+++ for your fridge you are trying to live a champagne lifestyle on a beer budget. By the way I saw an LG fridge in the store today (the LG signature series) for $8,998.

It's a fair drop on what it has been, I've been looking at this fridge for a while (also a similar Hitachi). Not sure it's relevant what the prices of other fridges are to be honest.

Also Appliances Online doesn't really have "normal" prices, they use an algorithm which changes the price based on a number of factors. It could quite easily go back up tomorrow.

That said, it has been cheaper before it looks like: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/391929, but I don't think it's a reason for a neg, as it's the cheapest that it is currently (I've had a quick look around, and most are over $3900).

  • Yeah I’ve been keeping my eye on this fridge for about a year now and cheapest I saw it was when there was a 20% off deal with bing Lee but then you had to pay for delivery on top. This price is pretty good with delivery included.

From all the comments and reviews I have seen it is solid well preforming fridge - for all the trolls just check out at all the reviews on productreview.

  • Here is the Choice Magazine Fridges review. Mitsubishi don't frequently come in categories.

Why do people worship Choice so much yikes. Mitsubishi are great, I've sold a buttload and own one myself.

      https://www.productreview.com.au/c/fridges-refrigerators

eg. They rate a WHE6000SA highly for french door yet others review it poorly.

      • Hey kerjifire - since you sell them can you advise what’s the difference between this newer model vs the older discontinued one (model MRWX743Y)?? I can’t see any difference so not sure why the older one was discontinued.
        Thanks

Efficiency was the big one! They've bumped it up to a 4 star rating, they've decreased the ice making time by 5 mins and increased the water tank by 100ml. Minor changes in the grand scheme of things but I guess you can't complain with them improving an already great fridge.

fyi I no longer sell them, I stopped a few months ago but I do still love Mitsubishis :)

  • any recommendations for fridge under 1.5k?

  • I have this fridge (platinum/gold color probably older model), about 3 years ago paid $3500 at Harvey Norman (it was around $4900 then). Apparently the sales guys wasn't meant to give me at such a low price (maybe it was close to cost at that time) cause the manager was quite angry when we went back and ask for the sales staff which he wasn't working on that day to buy it. He written it down on paper so they had to honor it or something.
Great fridge I find and also one of the few fridges that doesn't need to be plumbed to make ice automatically. It cools and freezes great and lots of settings on it.
