The cheapest, most reliable domain name registrar?

I'm looking for a cheap .com domain name, 1-3 years.

What's a good place to go?

(I don't need hosting, just the domain)

I use Dynadot, because they take Paypal and the Domain Privacy is only $2 per year. Currently they have COM for US$9.75, and have been under $10 for the past 5 years or so.

You can often get better prices on specials from other registrars, but then they sting you BIG TIME for domain privacy. I will never again have a domain without Whois Privacy, I hate being spammed!

When there are specials, they are almost always for the first year only. The idea being to sign you up and then rape you later.

I've basically given up wasting hours to try and save 50c per annum on domain registrations. You can literally waste nights and nights searching and end up only a few cents better off!

Note - dynadot domain privacy is only possible for 1 year. If you want multiple-year domain registration, you need to go through checkout and change it at the last step (or almost the last step). I remember I had a small amount of trouble with this a while ago, but sorry I can't remember the exact details.

I use RegisterFree because they are Australian.

Prices are the cheapest i've seen however no phone support. Suits me fine.
